The Artistic Visual Image Presentation Of Quantified Information

Since the 20th century, the transmitting of message has been developing fast with the better application of modern science and technology, as well as the progress in communication and media technology. The spreading of new knowledge and message is increasing at a rapid pace. The information to be received and processed exceeds greatly the processing capability of the receiver or processor, rendering the user of information unable to quickly understand the meaning of certain information. Therefore, we organize and regulate the relevant information resource in an effective way to remove redundant noise. What’s more, we present the information in a proper way to realize effective conveyance of information. Today, with the intermingling of art and technology, the artistic visual image presentation of quantified information (AVIPQI) visualizes abstract and complicated information to provide the information with a carrier in the form of graphic presentation.Based on the perspective of iconology, this theory explores the visual principle, presentation form, function, and ways of presentation and artistic feature of AVIPQI. AVIPQI is explored from the angle of image theory. The visual principle and function of AVIPQI is explained with visual theory and image symbols. On this basis, a summarization is given regarding the form and ways of presentation and aesthetical principle of AVIPQI. In the experiments, attitude measure form is adopted to measure how recipients understand, prefer and accept the pure literal presentation form of quantified information, image presentation form and the combination form of image and words. The result of this experiment serves as an empirical proof for the theoretical study of AVIPQI. In this way, the artistic and scientific mechanism of AVIPQI in terms of encoding and decoding information through visualization in order to get to the bottom of facts for the sake of truth can be exposed.This study has broken through the current domestic research pattern. Based on the foreign research results, as well as iconology, art studies, semiotics, design studies and psychology, AVIPQI has been studied in a multidimensional and multidisciplinary way. Therefore, the theoretical breadth and depth of the study could be enhanced. With modern science and technology as the prerequisite, believing that function determines the form, AVIPQI constructs for us a new ideal visual space, in which everybody returns to the essence of the mankind. Moreover, the secret code hidden in the visualized information brings about the art of visual presentation and design, as well as an aesthetical experience and artistic perception in which visualization plays the key role in seeking the essence of information.
