Study Of Practice Patterns Of Modern Technology-Ethics

It is helpful to solve the problem of technological ethics from historical perspective on the relationship between technology and ethics. The evolution of relationship between technology and ethics of human history has experienced the process of "Controlling Technique by Morality" in ancient times, "Separation of Morality and Technique" in recent times, "Conflict of Morality and Technique" in modern times. Today, the contradiction between technology and ethics has still not been coordinated. Modern scholars analyze and demonstrate different technology ethics issues from a single point of view with single variable in different technical fields, which either relies on the latitude of technology itself or ethical requirements, and is really hard to strike the balance between technological progress and ethical standards.The development of modern technology is still faced with a contradiction of relations between technology and ethics. It needs to carry out new practice of Technology-Ethics in order to get out of the traditional ethics predicament. This new form of practice requires consideration and study of the related technological ethics at the beginning of the development of a technology. Bai Chun-li, an academician and president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, who had firstly referred to this form of practice, pointed out that this practice pattern was put into practice on the research and development of nanotechnology successfully for the first time in human history. Thus it can be seen that it should be resorted to new technology-ethics practice to coordinate the contemporary technology ethics issues.This paper consists of six parts. An introduction is given firstly, which covers problem-raising, its value, literature review, research ideas and methods, difficulties and innovation etc. In the second part, through the analysis of "ethics practice separated from technology" and "technology practice separated from the ethics", this paper presents and demonstrates a new form of practice, namely Technology-Ethics Practice. The following part discusses the relationship between technology and ethics of China and the West in ancient times from historical perspective, and introduces historical generation of modern technology-ethics practice forms, which emerged separately in the embryonic stage, the formation stage, and development stage. The empirical analysis of typical modern technology-ethics practice has been carried out in the fourth part, which includes analysis of contemporary Engineering Technology and Ecological Ethics, Medical Technology and Bioethics, Network Technology and Information ethics, etc. Then it demonstrates the technology-ethics practice modes of the relationship between different technologies and ethics. In the fifth part, the practice problems of modern technology-ethics have been analyzed in different aspects, including reasons, process, and results analysis, etc. The last part focuses on the possible solutions to the problems of contemporary technology-ethics practice. The author puts forward a theory of collaborative construction of contemporary technology-ethics, and explores concrete measures to put this theory into practice. Finally, through a case study of nanotechnology, the paper explores the practical approach of collaborative construction of contemporary nanotechnology and ethics.In order to realize the coordinated development of contemporary technology and ethics, the instruction of collaborative construction theory of Technology-Ethics should be followed as a basis for continually carrying out new practical exploration. Practice patterns of Modern Technology-Ethics will become the new form of practice, by which human could successfully coordinate and solve the contradiction between modern technology and ethics.
