Research On The Core Values Fostering Of Contemporary Military Academy Students

Values are always the important topic ethical concerns. The core value system constitutes the spiritual foundation of a nation. Thus, the cultivation of core values is the basic task of the social moral construction. In2006, the Sixth Plenary Session of the16th CPC Central Committee putted forward the major ideological strategic project,"the construction of socialist core value system". At the end of2008, President Hu Jintao further proposed the core values of the contemporary revolutionary soldier, with "loyalty to the Party, love the people, serve the country, devote mission, advocate honor" as main contents. From then on, the problem of core values has become a realistic subject, gaining high concern of all walks in our society. As the vanguard of the socialist morality construction, our army ought to stay ahead in the construction of the socialist core values system. Therefore, this dissertation chooses cultivation core values of cadets as research subject, attempting to expand the forward position of value philosophy research.Focusing on the core values of the contemporary revolutionary soldier and their cultivation, this dissertation holds in-depth exploration on the following aspects, including the historic heritage, theoretical foundation, cultivating significance, cultivating objective, cultivating methods and so on. The first chapter briefly reviews the basis, research status and research methods of the core values. The second chapter analyzes the main elements and cultivation methods of the military core values in different historical periods of ancient China. The third chapter discusses the PLA’s inheritance and development of the military core values in ancient China, and theoretically analyzes the transcendence of the core values of the contemporary revolutionary soldier and demonstrates the moral rationality of them. Through large numbers of questionnaires and scientific research methods, the fourth chapter makes objective analysis on the present status of the cadets’core values. The fifth chapter expounds the significance of cultivating core values of cadets, puts forward the basic cultivating objectives, and makes some fundamental requirements on the cultivation. Based on the fundamental methods of moral education, the sixth chapter summarizes the methods of cultivating the core values of cadets.Taking root in the fertile soil of the traditional culture, this dissertation scientifically concludes and summarizes the main content of the ancient military core values. It deeply analyzes and expounds the historical heritage of the core values, tamping the theoretical foundation of the core values. Based on the scientific investigation and analysis, it puts forward a set of operable standards and methods for the cultivation of the cadets’core values. In a word, this dissertation makes some contribution to the construction of socialist core values system theoretically and practically.
