This research, which bases on the trend and theoretical path of the culture overcome the nonpolitics, is a political philosophical approach to the political thoughts in around Weimar Republic. It is meaningful to do this research, because different political thoughts interacted in this period. Comparing with the existing researches in Chinese, there is not an appropriate political philosophical approach to the political thoughts in this period. Political philosophy, which is the investigation and judgment of the political reality in the fundamental and total ways, is different from the other theories; and the political philosophical approach, which bases on political philosophy, is also different from the other approaches. A political philosophical approach in this research is a sociological-historical approach, what is different from the other approaches. It is an approach to the political reality and relevant political thoughts, not the usual way of conceptions or notions. In the introduction, it clarifies the differences and relevancies between this approach and the other approaches, and attempts to define the definition and indicate the significance of this approach. In the pandect, this research follows the two clues, which are the progress of German modernization and the three paradigm transitions of European political philosophical thoughts, and presents the complexity and implications of German history, German Question and German political philosophy tradition. The branches of this research mainly focus on four famous intellectuals in Weimar German, whom are historian Friedrich Meinecke, litterateur Thomas Mann, public law theorist Hermann Heller, and philosopher Karl Lowith. All of them are in German political philosophy tradition and reflected the political reality of their time; hence they revealed not only the continuity of German political philosophy tradition, but also the demands of their time. Therefore, this research investigates them in two ways:one is about the political reality of their time, and the other is about their political thoughts. By means of this investigation, we could find their thoughts are the different possibilities of German political philosophy tradition. This possibility, which could be named the culture overcome the nonpolitics, is the possibility of the transition from cultural politics to political culture.Although the issues and approaches of the new generation intellectuals are different from the old ones after 1945, the old tradition is still influential in new forms. We could not deny the political thoughts in around Weimar Republic still influenced on today’s horizon, so it is time to envisage and re-investigate German political philosophy tradition now.
