A Study Of The Party-Masses Relationship In The New Period

Establishing close ties with the masses is a fine tradition of our Chinese Communist Party and the key to our Party’s leading people to the success of revolution and construction. Our people are the source of force of our Party. The consistent keeping of "blood-meat" relationship between the Party and the people has a direct bearing on the wax and wane of our Party and country. After the meeting of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a solid foundation is firmly laid by the following efforts:the construction of Party member’s working styles is further heightened, the fighting against corruption is further reinforced, the carrying out of mass line education is fruitful and the reform is deep and all-around. All of those efforts mentioned above contribute to improving the party-masses relationship. Nevertheless, there are still some challenges hindering the development of the party-masses relationship:the currently existing encroachment of people’s rights, the issue of leading cadres’ working style, the issue of working approach with the people, the issue of institution and systems in regard to connecting the people, and the threat of peaceful evolution and extremist damages inflicted by western countries. Confronted with such severe test, our Party must stick to the following principles:being people-oriented and governing for the people; remaining united and stabilized and guiding people in a positive way; being realistic and practical, and offering guidance via classification; giving priority to the key points on one hand and giving consideration to overall issues on the other hand, knowing what must be done and what cannot be done. In order to better the party-masses relationship in the new period, there are some measures that must be undertaken:our Party should put the emphasis on strict administering of the Party, thereby ensuring the purity and progressiveness of the Party; our Party is supposed to be guaranteed by the improvement of its systems and institutions, thereby normalizing the healthy interactions between the Party and the people; our Party is expected to make breakthroughs by means of efficient working approaches and modes, thereby increasing the party-masses working output; our Party should take economic construction and social development as its main focus, thereby meeting the needs and desires of all the people; our Party is supposed to rely on the education of the people, thereby bridging the ideological and emotional gap between the Party and the people; our Party is expected to rule the country by law and steer its people towards observing laws and disciplines. By adopting all those measures mentioned above, our Party is going to gather more strength in realizing the China Dream of the great renewal of our Chinese nation.
