In this paper, we studied tactical behavior during a table tennis competition using game theory analysis methods. Our aim was to build a theoretical system of Table tennis tactics and to discuss the concepts, elements, categories and denotation of game theory in table tennis tactical behavior. We constructed and solved two kinds of models from the aspects of stage game and sequential game. In stage game we obtained "path dependence" ("Nash equilibrium" path combination) and "sub-game Nash equilibrium" (the optimal placement of tactical combinations) in sequential game. The conclusions of the research are as follows:1) Game theory characteristics and table tennis tactical characteristics are highly consistent with each other. The basic theory and analysis theory of table tennis tactical analysis methods can provide a base strategy for table tennis. Table tennis tactical behavior game analysis theory provides a new way to observe and understand table tennis.2) An empirical analysis of table tennis tactical behavior from the perspectives of stage game and sequential game can be obtained through a calculation of the Nash equilibrium form. The Nash equilibrium solving process applied to table tennis tactical game analysis provides a theoretical paradigm.3) Through verification, table tennis stage game and the Nash equilibrium, we are able to establish a "path dependence" and sequential game stages of the game. This shows that the Nash equilibrium path with a unique project of existing form broadens the game theory research field and enriches game theory research.4) The consistency of the Nash equilibrium shows that it can forecast table tennis tactical behavior. This important means of game tactics and implement has potential for far-reaching influence of the game and could make important contributions to theoretical prediction.
