Theory Of Minority Culture Modernization

Modernization is a comprehensive development, which is based on the development of productive forces, and industrialization is the core of modernization. Modernization contains the development from agricultural community to industrial community, the deep-going transformation from traditional community to modern community, and the multiple interactive changes occurred between mode of production and superstructure, economic development and political development, material life and spiritual life, thinking mode and behavior mode. Modernization is an inevitable trend of development of the world history. No matter how long and great the historical tradition of a country or a nation is, in order to exist and develop on the earth with constant integration and globalization, modernization is an inevitable realistic way. In China, where the issue of cultural modernization has been discussed for many years, exploring the prospect of scarcely populated minority’s culture and searching its developing path, is an inevitable issue for the study of scarcely populated minority.Ewenki, which is one of the scarcely populated minorities with a population below100,000, is an old nation. Ewenki People gradually formed a characteristic and colorful ethnic traditional culture in history. At present, Ewenki People lived in less developed regions in China. The development of local economic and the improvement of people’s living quality are extremely urgent, and modernization of ethnic culture is the only proper way to realize this goal. With the intensity of the globalization, the influence of the external culture is becoming more and more influence day by day. A strange and new culture system is integrated into the life of scarcely populated minority. This progress affected the continuation of ethnic traditional culture, and changed its slow developing way. The collision of the two cultures causes the ethnic traditional culture to adjust itself to adapt to the change of the society and the traditional culture of scarcely populated minority to change. For the development of the region that is inhabited by Ewenki People, economic is not the only problem. The protection of ethnic traditional culture should also be considered, because the economic should not be developed at the cost of the extinction of ethnic culture. Discussing how to deal with the relation between ethnic culture and modern culture and finding a correct way of cultural modernization is an urgent task which affects the success or failure of the development of Ewenki People.The dissertation takes Ewenki Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is the largest region inhabited by Ewenki People in our country, as an example, and takes the change of Ewenki People’s culture as an principal line, so as to analyze the relation between cultural change and cultural modernization, and discuss the developing way of modernization of scarcely populated minority’s culture. The dissertation contains3parts.The first part contains introduction and chapter1. Introduction firstly explains the background of the issue and the studying angle, and states the significance of the dissertation. And then summarizes the existent relative study, and find that the existent study about the relation between ethnic cultural change and cultural modernization, scarcely populated minority and Ewenki People is still not enough. At last, systematically summarizes the content, the studying method, the innovation and the shortage of the dissertation. Chapter1firstly introduces the origin, the name, the migration and the struggle of Ewenki People from the aspect of history. And then combs the character of Ewenki People’s cultural tradition in the long process of existence and development, from the respect of material culture, spiritual culture and systemic culture, which involves the culture of food, clothing, shelter and travelling, the culture of literature and art, systemic culture, festival culture and religion culture. At last, comprehensively combs the basic situation of Ewenki Autonomous Banner, which is the example of the dissertation, from the respect of living environment, institutional environment, and the developing situation of society and economic. The second part is the main part of the dissertation, which contains chapter2, chapter3and chapter4. Chapter2presents the change and development of Ewenki People’s culture. Firstly, describes the material cultural change of Ewenki People from the respect of mode of production and life, which is closely related to existence and development. Secondly, discusses the change of Ewenki People’s social norms from the respect of system and custom, based on the dichotomy method which is general in the academic field. Thirdly, explains the social change of Ewenki People from the respect of the raise of people’s living level, the acceleration of the urbanization and the desalination of ethnic symbol. Chapter3firstly discusses the motivation of change of Ewenki People’s culture. And then discusses the deep-going influence that the economic factor, the system factor and the cultural diffusion factor brings to the change of ethic culture, and explores the main cause of the change of ethic culture. Based on the analysis of the ethic traditional cultural character, change and its cause in the front chapters, chapter4deeply analyses lots of problems in the process of modernization of Ewenki People’s traditional culture from the aspect of change of ethic traditional culture, with the situation of reindeer-herding-Ewenki People in Genhe area as an example.The third part is chapter5. This part firstly discusses the relation between scarcely populated minority’s culture and modernization, and finds that cultural change and modernization promote and restrict each other. And then discusses modernization way of scarcely populated minority’s culture from the basic law of modernization of scarcely populated minority’s culture, based on the case study about the cultural change of Ewenki People in the front chapters. At last, puts forward selective recommendation from the perspective of the public power and society. The recommendation contains the content as below:the special cultural developing system in the college students, the management effect of ethic traditional cultural resources, the construction of cultural debugging mechanism, the heritage of the excellent aspect of ethnic culture,"identification to the local culture" of an ethic and the ethic culture’s developing mode which is near to life. Finally, this paper points out the advice and strategy on Eerguna city’s leading industry development, based on the conclusion.
