Traditional literatiwhich was the local leadership in Taiwan society, deeply educated by Confucian. Especially the traditional literati who had the fame enjoyed a high prestige and status in the community. Face the decline of traditional Confucian education and impact of the colonial education system, educational activities of Taiwan traditional literati during Japanese colonial period showed a different style compared with a unified society, with the characteristics of inherent complexity and diversity.The paper utilizes various official literature of the Taiwan Governor and explores local history, portraits, newspapers and magazines, as well as author memoirs, diaries, autobiographies, oral history interviews recorded, biography, chronology and other historical data, based on the education system and policy in Taiwan during Japanese colonial period, discourses the educational activities of Taiwan traditional literati, in order to completely rendered out the activitiesmap of Taiwan traditional literati during Japanese colonial period. to restore a more detailed history under the overall framework of the original history of Taiwan education research, as much as possible to show and to pursue historical look closer to the truth, and multi-faceted nature of the dynamic process. At the same time, to explore the relationship between the multiple choices of traditional literati under the impact of the colonial education system, as well as the relationship between Taiwan traditional literati and modern education,and the special significance of educational activities of traditional literati.
