From1939to1945, Hainan Island was invaded and occupied by the Japanese troops. In order to become dominant and make it become one part of the Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, the Japanese troops attempted to pacify and enslave the people on Hainan Island. They implemented colonial education forcibly on the island. Japanese education, etiquette education and Labor Education were at the very core of the colonial education. Based on a general review of the Japanese troops’colonial activities on Hainan Island, the author figured out the implement background of the colonial education and analyzed its policy, implementation as well as the impact.The introduction part of this paper mainly discussed the research progress in this field. The first chapter stated the Japanese troops’behavior after the occupation and the implement background of their colonial education. The second chapter discussed the policies of colonial education based on literature review. The third chapter analyzed the implement situation of preschool, primary school, middle school, vocational, normal and social education activities specifically. Guided by the Colonialism Double Mission Theory by Marx, the author analyzed the impact of colonial education on Hainan Island in the fourth chapter. In the conclusion part, based on a general analysis of the nature and characteristics of colonial education implemented by the Japanese troops on Hainan Island, the author brought up some research subjects for the future study.
