In the end of 19th century, Japan began to establish a modern unified country under the system of feudalism. Since then Japan became an imperialist country which governed a certain number of colonies. Influenced by the Great Depression happened in 1929, Japan carried out the plunder-oriented strategy of colonial expansion to enrich the domestic Zaibatsu. Thus the East Asian countries-Chaoxian and Puppet Manzhouguo suffered repression from Japan’s colonial invasion. In order to monopolize Puppet Manzhouguo and Chaoxian militarily, regardless of Chinese and Chaoxian’s fierce resistance, Japan not only plundered Puppet Manzhouguo and Chaoxian from the aspects of society, economy and education, but also killed their people’s nationality by implementing the strangling strategy aiming at forming an affiliated pariahs status which is formally or informally discriminatory in Japanese Empire. After the Mukden Incident in 1931, Japan established Puppet Manzhouguo with the characters of colonialism and ruled it until 1945. Meanwhile, Chaoxian was occupied as a colony according to the Japan-Chaoxian Annexation Treaty(1910-1945). Japan used education to make people in colonist become slaves, as one part of colonial and aggressive policy,From 1910 to 1945, Japan published Chaoxian Education Decree in Chaoxianfour times. In order to strengthen the enslaving education, Japan carried out the “New Education System” in Puppet Manzhouguo. Especially with the widespread outbreak of Sino-Japanese War in 1937, Japan issued “Third Chaoxian Education Decree” and Puppet Manzhouguo “New Education System” in Chaoxianand China respectively in 1938 for the purpose of deepening the degree of “Subjects of Feudal Ruler” in Chaoxian and cultivating Puppet Manzhouguo “Loyal Citizens” who are willing to service Japan. The subject of this study mainly analyzes the essence of Japanese colonial education. By comparing Chaoxian’s “Third Chaoxian Education Decree” in 1938, Puppet Manzhouguo “New Education System” and education regulations and rules of all levels that Japan has announced, I hope that through this research, exploring the deep association Puppet Manchukuo and Chaoxian, the education system between the two schools. As such, I will find how the regulations and rules realized in schools and what the difference is.At first, we investigate the essence of Japanese colonialism and the historical background of Puppet Manzhouguo and Chaoxian colonist’s establishment, the second explain the revising and formulating background of “Third Chaoxian Education Decree” and Puppet Manzhouguo “New Education System”. Through the education systems contemporarily published in 1938, we could know that how the educational regulations of all levels were realized in Puppet Manzhouguo and Chaoxian colonist. Finally the comparison of so called educational target, system, contents and school situations, we research the essence Japanese colonial education-obscurantism, enslavement and pragmatism.
