Doing research on lifestyle, particularly urban lifestyle of youths is veryimportant and novelty issue in Mongolia. The main cause of doing research onlifestyle is based on people who were born in1980-1990is covering the highpercentage in society. It is very challenging to research on child and adolescentsocialization which were during social changes and great movements. Raisinghypothesis and identifying needs is my main point to study this topic as how socialchanges and renovation influenced on80s and90s youths, how education and major isinfluenced on their life and how their lifestyle influenced on the next generation.Late1980s and early1990s was the main historical period which was thebeginning of movement from totalitarian state to open democratic social①. There wasno way to renovate the status and organization of institution which was the constituentof intellectual life of a society… at that time was the dissolution of the socialpsychology and ideology”②There were a lot of factors that influenced on people’s life during1980-1990swhich were changed social institutions, lost some basic roles of agents and wasopened new information sources and technology. Research frame is bounded withincitizens of Ulaanbaatar city due to democratic society which is allowed Mongoliancitizens to choose where to live and there were numerous movements to urban areas.More than half of the population is living in Ulaanbaatar city. According to2010,544813people or47,2%of inhabitants are the original inhabitants who were born inUlaanbaatar and were not participated in any movement.609477or52,8%is relatedto movement. Youths were the dynamic participants who involved in movement. Last5years185500people moved from different rural areas to Ulaanbaatar and50%ofthose were youths of age15-24. Mongolia has a rich tradition which prefers to teach illiteracy and educate thechildren but it is related to the history of last90years that was educated children insettled area. A number of well educated people increased rapidly as a sequence of thisprocess and after the democratic revolution.Lifestyle of mass youths who acquired education, value, life goal, social activeinteraction and needs are important subjects to study and it makes numeroussignificant roles on value of high-education, quality, and efficiency on socialdevelopment. According to our country this topic is not a new one.In1987Academy of Philosophy, Sociology and Law along with “Social featureof today’s intellectuals” research work was studied Mongolian intellectuals and theirroles. It is very important to study today’s well educated youth’s goal, value, and styleof leisure spending and compare them with intellectuals of previous social institution.A brief Introduction of thesis: Chapter one is about main goal of the thesis, previous studies and research methods. The study goal is covering many objectiveswithin theory and empiric studies. Social specific group or who were born1980-1990are main subject of this research work and pay much attention on their birth in urbanarea, social problem, movement, urbanization and culture. Youths, urbanization andculture are the main three issues in life and my main goal is to do research on theseissues inside theory and empiric level.Chapter two is covering main theorists of sociology and their view on lifestylesuch as K.Marx, M.Weber and Kenneth Roberts. I applied their research ideology andmethodology on lifestyle. Kenneth Roberts suggested three main ideologies aboutlifestyle research. A frame of theory is included culture forms in society, their feature, youths subculture and how world’s political, economical, cultural and technicaldevelopment were influenced youths lifestyle which were last100years. Youthssubculture is always against majority culture even if ideology system and value fallapart there should be found a new way and spread new ideology.Chapter three is about urban origin and development, advantages anddisadvantages of urban, youths’ urbanization and urban life becomes youths’ lifestyle. As time passed world is developing day by day and there arise a new issues related tourban population, expanded boarder and urbanization. According to Mongolia, youths are the largest part who is participating in the movement and they create a lot of issuethat should be solved.Chapter four and five are included research result which is related to lifestyle ofwell educated youths’ of Ulaanbaatar. There is included detailed image of youths’value, life goal, style of spending leisure time and social active interaction. I tried toshow differences between two social institutions and compare the result of socialstatus of socialism who were well educated and intellectuals at that time.Chapter six is mentioned about political policy which is carried out fromMongolian government to youths’, international and non-governmental organizationpolicy, goal and activity. The foremost important object of the thesis is focused on1980-1990youths’ whowere born and well educated. I tried to do research on youths’ lifestyle and their issuesbut there is lack of studies which is not studied sufficiently. I hope to enrich thissubject further in my research works. On the other hand, well educated youths’ view and lifestyle is much more stableand lack of common problems comparing with secondary and primary educated ones. The main influence of choosing the topic was youths’ who was involved in damage ofsocial movement, value, fall-off of view. There were a lot of youths who are not onlysecondary or primary educated but also omitted ones. Illiterates who were born in1980-1990faced unemployment and movement which caused a serious problem andmost of them were descendant of worker, herder and travelling worker. How themovement influenced for those youths does, was the part of my research work but itstayed out of my work because it could be another great research work and scientificstudy. As Roberts mentioned that lifestyle is changeable process so lifestyle issue isfrequently developed, evolved and continued. Lifestyle is changeable but it seeksfeature and it can compare high and middle classes. In order that above mentioned arethe main influences that will be a great practice and data this time.
