The Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the CPCemphatically pointed out that in order to achieve the Chinese nation’s bright prospect on theroad to revival of the Chinese Dream, we must comprehensively deepen the reform, taking“to promote social fairness and justice and to improve people’s well-being” as the startingpoint and the foothold. To attain the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinesenation based on comprehensively deepening reform, in the final analysis, is to accomplish thebeautiful life of the people. Under the macroscopic background that the grand prospect ofrealizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has launched and the overall reform hasbeen initiated, along with the complexity, sensitivity and universality of those happinessissues in social and personal life, views about happiness will become a significant topic for aperiod of time in the future around our country in terms of theoretical considerations andpractice exploration. Both of the essentiality of happiness in the personal life and socialdevelopment and education in bridging the role of individual and social harmoniousdevelopment determine the significance of happiness education in the process of cognizing,creating and understanding life of happiness in contemporary Chinese society. Marxistoutlook on happiness critically absorbs the outstanding traditions of the western interpretationof happiness, and integrates organically with social practice of modern history of China,which reveals the great spiritual power and liberation and is of great significance andpractical value for the current Chinese to improve the cognition, creation and understandingof happiness. And the ideological and political education must bear a high social mission ofguiding and educating the citizens with Marxist outlook on happiness.With the gradual deepening research on happiness issues, Marxist outlook on happinessand several relevant education issues are becoming increasingly attracting the attention fromacademic circle, and have obtained comparatively abundant research achievements.Meanwhile, it also highlights some disadvantages as follows: first of all, the analysis of theconnotation of Marxist happiness is not systematic, sufficient and deeply, especially thecurrent research fails to introduce Marx’s practice viewpoints and historical materialismhorizon into the discussion of happiness; Secondly, it lacks the reflection of historical logicsystem on happiness education in our country and research on Marxist happiness educationtowards college students; This leads directly to the disconnection between basic theory andpractical application, fails to organically integrate the basic spirit of Marxist outlook onhappiness with education practice. Therefore, research on Marxist outlook on happiness and its relevant educational issues needs to deepen and expand further.Based on the above understanding, the article starts with analyzing the acting factors ofChinese people’s happiness view on the current life, taking the theories of socialism withChinese characteristics education as the background and horizon, with the view of happinesseducation guiding the outlook on life education as the practical breakthrough, aiming atcollege students’ cultivation and practice of Marxist happiness view, and selecting “theMarxist outlook on happiness education to college student” as the research topic under thediscipline of ideological and political education. This article tries to answer the following twobasic questions: in the aspect of theoretical basis, the author explores an in-depth excavationof the theoretical connotation of Marxist outlook on happiness, systematically reflects on thehistorical logic and experience of Marxist outlook on happiness education; In terms ofpractice, the authors seeks to absorb and draw benefits from foreign outlook on happinesseducation practice based on our current view of happiness education. Meanwhile, put forwarda series of strategies to strengthen and improve Marxist happiness education to collegestudents. Finally, the author arrives at three fundamental conclusions as follows:Firstly, the essence of Marxist outlook on happiness is a practical view about happiness,which combines changing the world and individual itself. Since the founding of new China,the college students’ outlook on Marxist happiness education has kept pace with the times tothe basic spirit of Marxist outlook on happiness combined with practical social practice ofcontemporary China, having accumulated abundant practical experience. Secondly, happinesseducation to college students in foreign countries provides a mature and systematicapplication to our students. We need to take basic spirit of the Marxist outlook on happinessas a guide for creative transformation. Thirdly, this paper presents a preliminary explorationand formed “clear direction—integrating ideas—happiness engagement” countermeasures ofMarxist happiness education to college students. This thesis finally consists of five chapters.Chapter1: on the basis of the interpretation of classical texts of Marx, to draw lessonsfrom the domestic latest research achievements of historical materialism, clarify thetheoretical connotation of Marxist outlook on happiness taking practical concept as the core,explain the basic characteristics of Marxist outlook on happiness, interpret the contemporarysignificance of Marxist outlook on happiness, and grasp the basic spirit of Marxist happinessview, so as to lay a solid theoretical fulcrum to build up Marxist theory on happinesseducation and facilitate relevant practice.Chapter2: to further clarify the essential connotation of the Marxist happiness educationto college students, summarize the historical logic of Marxist happiness education to collegestudents since the founding of new China, from focusing on politics and economics tohumanism, summarize the basic experience of happiness education, so as to lay a solid foundation for building up theoretical system of Marxist happiness education to collegestudents’ and develop the practice systematically.Chapter3: from the four basic aspects of the connotation of Marxist outlook onhappiness, to investigate the current situation and characteristics of our college students’outlook on happiness, at the same time, research on the status quo and type of the Marxisthappiness education students receive, and to make deep analysis of existing problems andfuture direction of Marxist happiness education.Chapter4: to focus on the basic thought of happiness education in the American caringtheory and positive psychology, take an overview of the basic practice experience ofAmerican college students in terms of their outlook on happiness education, and analyze thereference and enlightenment of American happiness education to college students.Chapter5: to explore the thoughts and measures of strengthening and improvingcontemporary Marxist happiness education to college students, meanwhile, to build upeducation theoretical system and practical strategies.
