Human faces problem solving situation, when non-routine problems occur, from ancient time till now. As society process, problems we encountered became more sophisticated, complex and pluralistic. Under the background, this research tries to investigate the problem solving behaviors of pupils in mathematics classroom-how do they use reading comprehension technique to form solving strategy(maybe different from each other), and go on to enhance their problem solving abilities. This research choose qualitative approach with very small amount of sample,2 pupils, to make sure we have a clear pictures of pupil’s problem solving in process, how they ponder, argue loudly, think aloud, catch something, decide which way to go and accomplish. At first a word problem was presented to a class of six graders in Taipei city. Pupils were divided into seven groups of four, so seven different ways of solving the problem were produced.Adding introduction, activity procedure goal to achieve and review columns, this turn into the manuscript materials text to test the two sample pupils. One is a girl to be six grader after summer vacation. Another is a boy to be fifth grader. The whole process of teaching interviews were recorded and video-taped, and turned into words, coded, analysed, edited and concluded, with results as follows:1. They can really understand the seven different ways, in the sense, that four of them are correct, and judge with reason that the other three are wrong, even though number in the answer were right. One of the wrong answer used the irrelevant algorithm, the other two argued with non-exit relations.2. They arrived at true comprehension through a lot of elaboration, discussion, argue loudly, think aloud, seek help from researcher. Seek help from researcher, who inturn scaffolding the problem surrounding in order that the pupils can go on step bystep.3. In the mean-time, theyinteract with each other and with researcher to develop the so called"social norms"and "sociomathematical norms", which arekey to the long term partnership of mathematics learning relation.4. In the due process, they go through several different level of comprehending mathematics problem solving, which form a dynamic structure, in the sense that, their comprehension level occasionally folding back from high to low, and then go back to high level.5. They go beyond the manuscript material, extending the problem to a more general setting, and created a formula to solve all the problems of this kind.6. In the duration, the two pupils has transformed from shy to confident and self-regulated. Significantly, they became very fond of mathematics, so as to ask to continue to teaching interviews session.
