Dredging engineering is mostly in the seafloor or riverbed, whose underwatersoil conditions are difficult to identify and dynamic change, to bring great difficultiesfor survey, design and construction. According to the key technical problems ofdredging engineering design and construction, quantitative soil classification,3Dmultiple precision modeling and excavation analysis are studied in detail. The majorinnovative achievements are listed as follows.(1) Dredging soil classification model is established and a quantitativeclassification method of dredging soil is proposed in complex soil conditions.On the base of the analysis of dredging soil object classification, a uniformlegend of3D soil model for dredging engineering based on the standard legend andcolor is developed. And then dredging soil classification model and a quantitativeclassification index system are established. Based on the rough set theory, acalculation method of attribute weight is presented. The quantitative classificationcalculation of dredging soil in complex soil conditions is realized to provide the basisfor the establishment of dredging soil classification model.(2) Based on the level of detail models, the3D multiple precision modelingmethod of dredging soil classification is presented, and the quality evaluationmodel of surface fitting is set up.In view of the particularity and complexity of dredging engineering, the soil dataintegration processing principle and the method of automatically coupling3D modelwith the magnification properties are put forward. Based on the level of detail models,the3D multiple precision modeling methods of dredging soil classification arepresented. According to multiple data sources and uncertain underwater soildistribution, the quality evaluation model of surface fitting is set up and thecorresponding quality evaluation method is put forward. The quality evaluation ofmultiple precision models is realized, and improves the precision and accuracy of3Dsoil classification model.(3) Based on3D multiple precision soil classification models, a method ofexcavation simulation and analysis in dredging engineering is proposed to realizethe dredging soil excavation analysis.According to the characteristics and actual demand of dredging engineering, themethod of excavation simulation and analysis in dredging engineering is proposed based on3D multiple precision soil classification models, and the dredging soilexcavation analysis is realized. It contains soil classification profile analysis ofconstruction area, dredging soil excavation simulation analysis, bathymetric map andcontour generation, dredging volume calculation analysis, dredging back siltinganalysis, shallow analysis, dredging soil calculation and query analysis, dredgingproductivity calculation analysis under the condition of different soils.(4) Combined with the actual needs of dredging engineering, the softwaresystem of dredging soil classification analysis is developed.Based on the presented theories, methods and techniques, using databasetechnology, object-oriented technology, computer graphics and visualizationtechnology, the software system of dredging soil classification analysis is developed.And then with engineering practice, the dredging soil classification analysis isrealized, and plays an important role in survey, design and construction of dredgingengineering.
