| The dissertation re-examines the deep inner relationship between people andarchitecture responding to the demands of returning to the essence of architectures inarchitecture after the crisis of sciences and images since modern times. Through thephilosophy interpretation of “body†in phenomenology of perception, the significanceof body’s direct experience in architecture is established.The dissertation investigates the development and the contemporary turns ofarchitecture from material, space and order, and interprets the body in architecturefrom perception, movement and behavior, and discriminates the concepts of“presence†and “in field†in the contexts of philosophy and other disciplines, on thesebases, the relationships of aletheia and interaction between people and architecture arerevealed. At the same time, the philosophy interpretation of “Phenomenal Field†inphenomenology of perception is introduced to investigate the inner relationshipsbetween the architectural materials and body’s perception, the architectural spaces andbody’s movement, the architectural orders and body’s behavior, and then the conceptof “Perception Fieldâ€,“Movement Field†and “Behavior Field†are presentedinitiatively.The dissertation interprets the meanings of body’s perception, movement andbehavior in phenomenology of perception from multiple dimensions, reviews thearchitectural theories about the materials and perception, the spaces and movement,the orders and behavior. On these bases, the dissertation interprets the perceptionexperience, comprehensive perception and perception consciousness in the“Perception Fieldâ€, discusses the dynamic paths, multiple views and timeconsciousness in the “Movement Fieldâ€, explains the experiences of gravity, pressureand dynamic in the “Behavior Fieldâ€, and then reveals the origin meanings of thepresence of architecture and body.Based on the above research, the dissertation, on one hand, investigates thepresentation of materials, the transformation of space-time and the arrangement oforders in Chinese classical gardens to inspire the contemporary architectural creations.On the other hand, the characters of presence–“Weaknessâ€,“Durationâ€,“Embodiment†are revealed to enlighten the contemporary architectural theory on material, time and meaning, and to provide practical guidance for architectural design,which emphasizes the atmosphere, paths, and narrative in architecture. In addition, thedissertation forecasts the development of the research on phenomenology andarchitecture, and discusses the application prospect of phenomenological literature,method and description in architecture. |
