Contemporary Literary And Artistic Trend In China

This dissertation, based on the principles of the literary thought of Marx, Engels, Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, has explored comparatively and systematically a variety of literary and artistic trends, aiming at settling the disputes from the following five aspects:firstly, the developing state of Marxist literary thought in China; secondly, the application, methods, process and effects of Marxist literary thought in guiding literary and artistic trends, so as to reveal the multi-faceted relationships between Marxist literary thought on literary trends; thirdly, tapping the value of Marxist literary thought in directing Chinese contemporary literary and artistic trend, for the purpose of providing enlightening insights in deepening the research of Marxist literary thought in China; fourthly, making a profound analysis of various literary and artistic trends in the Western countries, to grasp the origin and characteristics of their spread and evolution in contemporary China; fifthly, probing into the modes of establishing contemporary literary thought in China abundant with era sensation and nationality, taking the socialist core value system to lead contemporary Chinese literary thought, to enrich literary and artistic creation, to optimize literary criticism, to deepen and to expand literary ideological research.The introduction part, acting as an introduction to the research topic, explicates its value and significance of the research; and discusses its thesis content, its research methods and ideas, as well as its target to reach.The first chapter gives a summary of the reasons and significance of researching Chinese Contemporary literary and artistic thought. The paper attempts to define, from the perspective of Marxist literary thought, Chinese Contemporary literary thought from its origin, its range and its features, thus forming a comprehensive analytical frame embodied with Chinese literary thought.The second chapter studies basic concepts of contemporary Chinese literary thought. The paper analyses systematically the economic environment, political environment and ideological environment at the time when Chinese literary trend is shaping, so as to establish a series of systematic research methods.The third chapter expounds literary thought of Marx, of Lenin, and of Mao Zedong, as well as that of Chinese socialism, and at the same time, reviews the phenomenon of different schools found in Chinese contemporary literary trend, trying to clarify its basic problems, and respectively its impacts on modern Chinese literary thought in direction and target.From the fourth chapter to the eighth chapter, the paper is devoted to the researches and analyses of the rise and development of contemporary Chinese artistic and literary trends, to be specific, five trends of literary and artistic thought, such as humanism, postmodernism, historical nihilism, consumerism and vulgarization, evaluating their performance, characteristics and social effects, and seeking for a road suitable for the development of contemporary Chinese literature and art, which would be meanwhile in line with the development of the literary thought of Chinese-characteristic socialism.The ninth chapter focuses on its development, its spread, its problems and social impacts of contemporary Chinese literary thought, to study how to strengthen the research and construction of Marx’s literary thought, and to insist on carrying forward the mainstream theme, refuting and resisting erroneous ideological and political views and comments, reinforcing the construction and management of propaganda front, offering no channels for countermeasures and erroneous ideas. The paper also puts forward some suggestions concerning the guidelines, policies and institutional construction, in order to provide theoretical structure for national publicity department in its decision-making.
