Li Hua Art Research And Education

I start my research with the sorting of the Li Hua’s Literature that newly discovered since2011, enriched the Li Hua’s Chronology, compiled the Li Hua’s Writing Chronology、Li Hua’s Art Chronology based on the Li Hua’s notes and manuscripts. Following the three chronology, this article combed through the process of Li Hua’s arts and education before he taught at Beiping Art School. More details is as follows:1，I analyzed that how the mode of thingking and character of Li Hua influenced by his early family life, and the teacher-student relations between Li Hua and Hu Gentian, Feng Gangbai whoem that pioneering in Guang Zhou’s new artistic movements during the period of Republic of China.2, In the face of overwhelming shocks that from individual and society, Li Hua walk out of the shadow through the art of woodcut, and attempted to upgrade woodcut to the tools of national education running on the Modern Prints Society platform. During this process, Lu xun gave them a lot of guidance, and made Li Hua to reinforce the independence of woodcut.3, To realize Lu xun’s order ("went out of the study room"), Li Hua led the Modern Prints Society to extend the audience cover intelligentsia lower class;At eight-year war period, Li Hua relinquished his pen for the sword, created lots of ink painting and battlefield sketches according to local conditions. On the other hand, Li Hua continue to play the new woodcut advantages as national education tool, he gain popularize style for his works when he was a newspaper editor.Becourse of the identity between Li Hua’s creative practice and essay writing, I hope through Li Hua’s case analysis, some basic concept of reborn woodcut will be recovered and recognized.
