Many corpotate environmental pollution affiairs occurred in China recently,which has pushed the issue of "Corporate Social Responsibility"(CSR),especially the concept of "Corporate Environmental Responsibility"(CER),once again into the public.CER refers to "the pursuit of economic interests while maximizing enterprises in production,business process,but also to take active preventive and rehabilitative measures to minimize the level of its impact on the environment and achieve sustainable development." Now,at the macro level,a certain consensus has been reached about the understanding of CER;however,at the micro level,related companies,who supposed to take the responsibility of protecting the environment,right now their attitudes and behaviors towards CER still have a great gap between public expections.The active actions from the national level,is extremelycontrast with the negative responses of micro-level enterprises.Based on the deep analysis of basic concepts,such as Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR),Corporate Environmental Responsibility(CER),Green Management(GM),and Corporate Environmental Performance(CEP),this dissertation aims to find out the major factors in the relationship among coporate attitudes and hebaviors of CRE,and also GM practices and CEP.In the research process,the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)and Stakeholder Theory are introduced to define the affecting demensions of CER attitude.Simultaneously,this dissertation chooses China’s lead-acid battery industry as study object,using exploratory case study method to build up the preliminary hypotheses of this paper.Then,in the subsequent theoretical analysis level,it builds a comprehensive model of "CER attitude---GM behavior---EP",which serves as the foundation of the driving force mechanism of enterprise’s green management practices.To begin with,this research chooses 7 battery enterprises in Jiangsu province,issued 200 questionnaires(100 A&100 B),and received 180,which serves as the pre-test to the reliability and validity of the scale.After that,issued by the China Battery Industry Association and the National Ministry of Environmental Protection,total gets 519 useful questionnaires across the country.Then,through the regression analysis,this study tests previous theoretical hypotheses and draws the following conclusions:first of all,the internal force has a significant positive impact on’ corporate green management practice,especially on the cultivation of enterprise common environmental values;Secondly,external pressure from stakeholders also has a positive impact on corporate green management behavior.The pressure has a significant influence on the establishment of corporate green business system,which supposes to based on a recycling economy;however,it has a negative impact on the built of specialized environmental departments and cultivation of corporate common environmental value.Third,the enterprise chooses to set up specialized environmental departments,which has a significant positive impact on corporate environmental performance.Fourth,the active cultivation of employee’s shared green values has a very significant positive effect on corporate environmental performance.Corporate culture also shows a positive relevant influence on firm’s sustainable development performance,but negative correlation between culture and financial performance.Fifth,the built of green business system is related to corporate environmental performance.It also indicates a positive impact on corporate sustainable development performance,but negatively related to financial performance.Generally speaking,CER attitude has a positive correlation with GM behavior;and corporate GM practice has a positive influence on CEP.Finally,departure from the limitation of this study,it points out that building up a green commercial system might be the highest level for the enterprises to fulfill their environmental responsibility.Currently,appropriate environmental regulation,policy supports from national government and profit attraction factors of business model transformation are very important for firms.The "green transformation" is the only route for corporate to achieve sustainable development.Next step,the research would focus more on how to apply western corporate GM models into a Chinese context;also,study objects will change from current large-scale firms in sensitive industries,to more popular non-sensitive industries,non-manufacturing sectors,and small scale enterprises.In addition,future research should also pay more attention to the multinational companies and their serous "double standards" towards corporate environmental responsibility in developing countries.
