Nanotechnology's research and industrialization are very rapid, and many countries regard it as a strategic emerging industry to support. However, the uncertainty of the advanced knowledge of nanotechnology science and its environmental and health risks in the process of technology application and industrialization can restrict its healthy and responsible development. Public participation in nanotechnology and other high-tech risk management has become new directions and urgent needs of the international technology risk management. The intersectionality of the nano basic knowledge, the risk superposition, the public risk derivative and the malconformation of the risk cognitive resources increase the difficulty of the nano risk management. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the influence factors and their effects on the public participation in the risk communication intention of nanotechnology.Based on the theory of risk perception, scientific literacy, risk society enlargement theory, and theory of planned behavior (TPB), the theoretical analysis framework of the influence factors on the public particaipation in risk communication intention is constructed by surrouding the risk ontology and communication objects with the grounded theory and method. Then the internal and external influence factors of public participation in nano risk communication intention are identified and the concept model of influence factors relationship is constructed. On the basis of the concept model, the related influencing map hypothesis is presented and verified. The factors interaction is revealed through the regression analysis, strctural equation analysis and the correction model of theory of planned behavior. This will provide important basis for the analysis, prediction, evaluation and guidance of the public participation in nano risk communicaiton.In the research of the internal influence factors on the public participation in nanotechnology risk communication, the information sources and trust components are identified through the research of adaptive questionnaire design and exporatory analysis. Based on the factors of the risk information, trust intention, goodwill trust and ability trust, the relation model of the risk cognition and risk communication willingness for the public interest related parties is established. Then the path structure equation is established with the empirical analysis using SMART-PLS2.0, which reveals the path of the cognitive development process and the formation of risk communication. The path analysis shows that the public nano risk evaluation is the intermediary variable between acquiring the risk information and producing the risk worry. Risk worry in public risk perception is negatively related with the willingness of participation in risk communication. Goodwill trust is the intermediary variable between acquiring the risk information and participation in the risk communication. Public participation attitude is of the intermediary role from the risk worry to the formation of risk communication intention.In the research of the external influence factors of the public participation in nano technology risk communication, the subjective norm variable in TPB is divided into two variables of interpersonal network and macro technology governance network. And the behavior control variables are divided into three variables of system effectiveness, self-efficacy and situation efficiency. Then the revised concept model of TPB is set up. The hierarchical regression analysis shows that the modified concept model increases the explanatory power of the conceptual model. In addition, the variance analysis shows the subject major in the public cultural characteristics is an imporant influence factor for the public behavior and psychology. Based on the public cultural characteristics of the different influence degrees by the social network and system program, combined with the measurement results of the public education, occupation and subject, the types of public participation behavior preference are classified, which will provide a reference for the prediction and evaluation of public representatives participation in risk communication intention and behavior.
