Development of the eco-textiles is the trend of international textile industry.Compared ecological textiles technical standards of China with international ecological textile technology standards(such as the 2011 version of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100),it is evident that there are some differences. In China, effective method has not been established for detection of a variety of harmful substances,(such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),phthalic acid esters(PAEs),harmful metallic elements,etc.).In addition, the analysis security accreditation for coated fabrics has also not been established. This study therefore focuses on to detect a variety of harmful substances and the analysis of the coated fabric composition. The results of this study may play an important role to break through foreign barriers,to bridge the China's ecological textiles technical standards with that of international one,as well as to provide necessary technical support for China's textile export trade.Firstly, gas chromatography-mass spectrometer(GC-MS)technology was developed to detect PAHs in textiles. For low background interference textile materials, soxhlet extraction was used to extract PAHs.For complex textile samples, ultrasonic extraction followed by liquid-liquid extraction and solid phase extraction were used to extract PAHs.A method using total ion current confirmatory, qualitative and quantitative ion analysis by GC-MS were developed for monitoring of PAHs in textiles. The results showed that the linear relationship for 16 PAHs of the method was good, the linear correlation coefficient was from 0.9930 to 0.9999 for calibration, the limits of detection were 0.4 ?g/L~ 3.8?g/L,the lower limits of quantification were 1.3?g/L~12.2 ?g/L,the method of standard addition recovery rate were74.0%~99.0%,and the relative standard deviations were between 0.89% to 4.94%.The examination of PAHs in coated denim, tarpaulins and other textile materials showed that the total PAHs in the tarpaulin was more than 10mg/kg,and benzo [a]pyrene exceeded 1mg/kg.Secondly,the study of seven kinds of phthalate esters(PAEs)plasticizer content in textiles was carried out using GC-MS detection technique. The procedure of soxhlet extraction, solid phase extraction sample, total ion current confirmatory, qualitative and quantitative ion analysis,GC-MS detection for PAEs content in textiles were developed. The results showed that the linear relationship of 7 kinds of PAEs using this method was good, the linear correlation coefficient for the calibration curves was 0.9958 to 0.9999,the limits of detection were 7?g/L to 82?g/L,the limits of quantification were 23 ?g/L ~274 ?g/L,the method of standard addition recoveries was 96.2% ~ 100.9%,and the relative standard deviation was 1.10% ~6.87%.The method is simple, fast, high sensitivity and quantitative accuracy. This method was used to detect PAEs in baby waterproof coated fabrics. The results showed that baby waterproof coated fabrics and tarpaulins contained more than 0.1% PAEs.Method for detection of 17 kinds of soluble harmful elements, including aluminum(Al),antimony(Sb),arsenic(As),barium Ba),(boron(B),cadmium(Cd),chromium(Cr),cobalt(Co),copper(Cu),lead(Pb),manganese(Mn),mercury(Hg),nickel(Ni),selenium(Se),strontium(Sr),tin(Sn),and zinc(Zn)in textiles and decorative materials were established based on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometric(ICP-MS)technology.The linear correlation coefficient of this method was 0.9994~0.9999,the limits of detection were 0.003 ?g/L~0.099 ?g/L.the limits of quantification were 0.01?g /L~0.33?g/ L.The method of standard addition recoveries was 88.4% ~ 103.3%,and the relative standard deviations were between 0.6% and4.9%.The results showed that the major textile in market, the migration of heavy metals content is in line with national standards. However, the heavy metal content in the textile materials with paint and dye stripping is higher than the dissolution of heavy metal content of textile contact materials.A method was established for the fast, simple and reliable routine determination of the total amount of elements(Sb,As,Cd,Cr,Ba and Pb)in textile using microwave digestion followed by ICP-MS.The isotope selection for determination of elements(Sb,As,Cd,Cr,Ba and Pb),the precision and accuracy in external quality assurance, and the analysis of conditions for textile microwave digestion were studied. The determination of the elements of the standard curve correlation coefficient were0.9996 ~ 0.9999.The method of standard addition recoveries obtained were84.9%~103.3% with relative standard deviations between 1.8% ~ 4.7%.Using commercially available eight textile materials(cotton, cotton viscose blends, linen, wool, silk, polyester, polyester blend, nylon),the results showed that the lead and the chromium contents were higher than the content of other elements in the tested textilematerials, but the content for each element was less than 1mg/kg.Finally,quantitative analysis of coated fabric with modified acrylic polymer was studied, using samples of polyester/cotton fabrics that coated with modified acrylic polymer. The samples were analyzed by attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR)spectrometer,and the spectra of modified acrylic polymer were thus obtained. The effect of solvent(acetone, ethylacetate, dimethylformamide(DMF)and NaOH)and temperature were studied to peel off the coated polyester from the cotton fabrics. The treatment of 50 mL50g/LNa OH boiling for 1 h,followed by 100 m L DMF extraction at room temperature for 1 h for per gram of coated polyester/cotton fabrics with modified acrylic polymer, had good peel effect. The results showed that stripp ratio of the coated fabric could reach 99.92%.After the modified acrylic polymer coated was removed,polyester/cotton blended fabric could be quantitative analyzed using common method. The procedure could be used to quantitative analysis for the coated fabric with modified acrylic polymer.
