As with the rapid development of virtual reality,the Web3D technology not only has been widely used in traditional domain such as education,tourism,real estate and so on,but also used in the international nuclear fusion device such as ITER,D?-D,Alcator C-Mod and so on.EAST as the Chinese nuclear fusion device is hard to access and has complicated diagnostic measurement system,so that we have built the virtual EAST system base on VRML and Java3D in the early stages.Combined with the virtual reality technology,users can roam in the EAST virtual scene through web browser.As with the EAST device upgrading every few years and EAST experimental data are shared and analyzed by more and more collaborators,the original system can't meet the needs of scientific researcher because of complicated configuration,simple models and incomplete connection with the experimental database.Therefore,the cross-platform EAST visualization system based on WebGL is rebuilt.The system allows EAST researchers understanding the EAST structure and acquiring experimental data more fastly and comprehensively which is of great significance to EAST experiment and research.The key technologies to realize the EAST visualization system are Three.js which is the WebGL library file,HTML5 and WebVR API.The establishment of the system mainly includes the construction of vitural scene,interactive control in virtual scene,experimental data visualization and immersive experience.Modeling is the critical factor of vitual scene construction,which decides the final loading speed and rendering quality,so that we optimizes the model in differnent level to realize the balance of model accuracy and loading speed.Interaction control in virtual scene mainly includes model rotation,model scaling,model picking and the display of EAST information.Data visualization means to connect the experimental database and display experimental data waveform diagram,experimental video,plasma shape and particles orbits and so on.Finally,we enhance user's immersion in 3D virtual scene by calling the WebVR API.In order to collect the EAST models and information handily,we build EAST wiki system and Web model editor system.The wiki system is used to collect and display the information of EAST device and diagnostic measurement systems.The web model editor offers an interface to allow model importing,editing,exporting and uploading.Eventually,the EAST visualization system is an open comprehensive platform having strong immersive and user-frientdly features.On one hand,it offers a more highly-interactive interface for scientists to roam inside EAST device,view the complex structure,acquire diagnostic meta data and realize experimental data visualization.On the other hand,user can get immersive experience by using head mount display.The main contributions of this thesis are listed as following:(1)The cross-platform comprehensive system is established,which provides a uniform interface without plug-in to access EAST models,parameters of engineering and physics and EAST experimental data.(2)Web model editor is built to realize automatic import of model.User can edit and upload models in visualization way through web browser.(3)The EAST wiki system is built which is an open platform for information collection.It has perfect rights management and version control,which allows user sharing information collaboratively.(4)LOD technology is used in the paper to realize the balance of loading speed and model accuracy.The simplified models are used as an overview,if user wants view the complicated model,the detailed model will display.(5)WebVR technology is researched to enhance the experience of Virtual Reality.
