The impact of natural wind environment on structures should be considered in the design for civil engineering.The wind velocity is the most critical parameter in natural wind envi-ronment.Real-time monitoring,statistic-based wind velocity simulation,wind tunnel test and computational fluid dynamics(CFD)constitute the four major methods to determine the wind velocity field.Among those methods,statistic-based wind velocity simulation and CFD are car-ried out through computational simulation employing numerical methods.The accuracy of wind velocity simulation results and calculation speed become the main factors in the choice of wind speed simulation method.Numerical calculations on a mix platform of GPU and CPU(Central Processing Unit)have gradually evolved as a main way to large-scale accelerated computing.This paper contains the studies of the numerical simulation of wind velocity field and the sim-ulation of wind velocity field based on CPU and GPU hybrid platform.The main researches about the wind field simulation are carried out as the following:1)Methods to the establishment of the extreme wind velocity for the design of engineering structures.Application Formulas for four kinds of extreme value distributions are derived,and the statistical indicators and the wind velocity value is acquired based on the data from Hainan Qinglan monitoring station.These velocity values are compared to probe into their differences.2)Acquirement of the Entrance boundary conditions for four kinds of turbulence models in relate with the CFD k-? model.The performances of these boundary conditions are compared to shed light upon the impact of the wall and the entrance on the models;3)Algorithm for the pseudo-random number generator.Three kinds of improved algorithms for the Logistic mapping pseudo-random number genera-tor are proposed,which is utilized to test the generator' s effectiveness of generating evenly distributed pseudo-random number and normal distribution pseudo-random number;4)Filter designation based on the fitted spectrum which is acquired by combining the genetic algorithm with the least square method;5)Methods to wind velocity field simulation.A new filter is to simulate the wind velocity field of large-span space structures.The influences of the factors such as the cutoff frequency,the error and window are analyzed.The results show that the nu-merical wind field generated by the proposed filter method can be applied to large-span space structures.The main researches about the GPU accelerated wind field simulation algorithm are as the following:1)The relationship between the four different Fourier transformation under the normalized coordinate system,and the fast Fourier transformation equation based on 8 sam-pling points.2)The parallel data algorithm based on tensor operation.3)The acceleration of pseudo-random number generator and Fourier transformation based on GPU.
