Buddhism itself has a healing effect. Whether in ancient or modern times, diseases that affect the human body and mind have not stopped. Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes the unity of mind and body, holds that “strong willpower lead to faithful spirit, the soul does not come loose, regret and anger can not appear, five internal organs can't be invaded by pathogens.” It pays attention to psychological factors in maintaining the harmony in the body, mind and soul. Traditional Chinese medicine always pays attention to psychological treatment. For example, “Having the spirit, the volition will be good, and the disease can be cured”, and “Having comfort and no desires, the genuine qi will follow and the spirit will be in the interior, so the disease has never been.” Such ideas and Buddhist medicine are interlinked. For the diseases which cannot be solved by modern medicine, especially in mental and spiritual aspects, Buddhist medical techniques and methods can alleviate and solve the disease to a large extent, and it also offers many practical and effective methods, which have great value and significance for the modern society whose competition pressure increasingly becomes more and more intense.
