Account Of Epidemic Disease Prevention And Treatment During The Period Of The Republic Of China

Epidcmic disease is the natural enemy whicih the human soiciety always face and struggle with , and with the development of the society,we human beings give more and more many attention to our own health,so the acadcmic value of the medical society history appears day afterday. Previous study results mostly concentrate in the research of epidemic disease whose reason of its outbreak for awhile and some region,so it needs the further enhancement and excavates.This paper does an outline research on the epidemic disease and its prevention and treatment and hopes to expand the research of the medical social history during the period of Republic of China.There are three major parts in the paper.Chapter 1:This part makes an outline from three angles to the epidemic disease of the Republic of China.Firstly,there are three major characteristics which are diversity of disasted and great harm , high mortality rate and obvious timing and region in the epidemic disease during the Republic of China time by analyzing five different forms which are the casualties of significant epidemic disease disaster during the Republic of China time, epidemic situation of six typical epidemic disease during the Republic of China time,the table of disaster casualties in China, major diseases and their ratio in northwest three provinces during the period Republic of China and general situation of major epidemic disasters.Secondly,the five reasons why the epidemic disease spreads during the Republic of China time.1.Epidemic diseases easily breakout after a flood or drought.2.Warlord tangled warfare and Japanese forces' germ warfare.3.Geographical environment.4.Bad manners and customs.5.Backw-ard medical and healthy technology.Thirdly,the influence of epidemic disease during Republic of China time.The most notable point is the massive population death.As a result,it leads to a significant reduction in labor.China is a traditional agricultural societ,so agriculture sinks into depresion inevitablely because of labor force deficiency.Another point is people's enormous panic because of a sudden outbreak of epidemic disease,which causes reconstruction of interpersonal relationships and value systems.Last,objectively, epidemic disease has also played an active role in which it can drive people to change their bad habits,force the government to speed up the establishment of a sound public health system and ccelerate the development of medicine and its related disciplines.Chapter 2:This part mainly explains the prevention and treatment of epidemic disease from the government of Republic of China and private charitable organizations such as the Red Cross Society of China and the Red swastikas of world.From the angle of the government of Republic of China ,it takes three types of measures to control the spread of epidemic disease.1.It establishes a sound system of health administration at all levels from central to local and promulgates a series of laws and regulations nationwide immunization.As a result, it opens the pace of the modern public health.2.The government establishes a series of medical schools to train doctors, nurses and other medical personnel.At the same time , various types of infrastructure such as hospitals are also constructed at a high speed. Border areas such as Qinghai Xinjiang and Yunnan also begain setting up public health.3.Newspapers, radio, publications, leaflets, health lectures publicity procession and so on are used to strengthen health education and popularize prevention knowledge to the public.Chapter 3:As to the private charitable organizations,the paper explains the subject in the case of Red Cross Society of China and the Red Swastikas of world.During the period of Republic of China,they play a unique role in the prevention and treatment of epidemic disease and the social services. Conclusion:This paper Aggregates the reason why the measures taken by government of Republic of China are not effective.More importantly,after the SARS and avian flu, our immunization systems expose a lot of deficiencies,so I hope this paper's writing could provide some useful lessons in the reform and improvement of the public health and disease prevention system.
