Research On Chinese Humanitarian Trends In The 1980s

Through clear exposition of development process of humanitarian thoughts,this thesis aims to analyze existence,state of development,generative logic and basic ideas of humanitarianism in the West and China.In the West,developing from the budding stage in ancient Greek and ancient Rome to the prevalent stage in renaissance,Enlightenment Movement,utopian socialism and humanism in European countries,humanitarianism has constantly accumulated in connotation and denotation,and developed into a mature systematic theory.This reveals historic,dynamic,multi-source,ethnic and regional development,as well as chronological accumulative growth of humanitarian thoughts in the West(especially in European countries)in different periods.Likely,Chinese traditional humanitarian thoughts have taken on the similar state of development.Surely,the development process of Chinese traditional humanitarianism(mainly thoughts of ancient Chinese philosophers in the past dynasties)is characterized by obvious continuity,single source,historical accumulation,dynamic nature,national traits and regionalism.In connotation and denotation of humanitarianism,humanitarian spirit in the West and China is divergent in different key points of idealism and materialism,individualism and collectivism,but is common in the emphasis of humanity,human value,respect of human value,upgrading of human status,and opposing to divinity.Through comparison of the development process of humanitarian thoughts in the West and China,this thesis concludes bipartite development and co-construction of humanitarianism in the West and China,further proposes generalized dimensions of humanitarian thinking and clarifies value and significance of Chinese humanitarian thoughts.Based on the above fundamental theoretical perspectives,this thesis has analyzed causes,influencing factors and backgrounds of Chinese humanitarian thoughts in the 1980 s,has displayed the international setting of Chinese humanitarian thoughts,and clarified the position and ideology of Chinese humanitarian thoughts under the international situation.On such basis,this thesis studies the internal setting and developing process of Chinese humanitarian thoughts,evaluates the positive impact,results,features and limitation of humanitarianism in the West and China,and clears up disputes on the relation of Marxism and humanitarianism,alienation,connotation and denotation of humanitarianism,general issues relating to human and class nature.This thesis considers that the thoughts contribute to self-awareness of theoretical exploration on Chinese academics,and open up a new research field for Chinese academics.The thoughts have positive significance and theoretical value in triggering the development of growth point for some new theories such as social ideological emancipation,in promoting socialist humanitarianism,subjectivity,humanology and people-oriented conception as well as in transcending the theoretical framework of humanitarianism in China.
