The research is conducted under the background of MOOC within the area of Beijing,targeted at the three stakeholders of college English teaching-schools,English teachers and their students.By analyzing the correlation of college English teaching and MOOC,the consistency of the three stakeholders,the researcher put forward the research problem-—the development strategies for the three stakeholders under MOOC.Based on the materials collected,the researcher introduced the concept and the theories of MOOC and the trend of its developing etc..With the help of Free Economics Theory,Theory of Absolute Advantage and Theory of Comparative Advantage,the Human Capital Theory and theories of English teaching,the researcher analyzed the concepts and theories of MOOC,predicted the new roles and development of the three stakeholders under MOOC.Based on the results of questionnaires,interviews and case study,the researcher summarized strengthens,weaknesses,opportunities and threats of the three stakeholders,as well as their understanding of MOOC and their appeal,qualitatively and quantitatively.By applying the SWOT method the researcher matched the different situations of external and internal conditions.Finally,some strategies for developing were carried out with the aid of relevant theories of English teaching and MOOC.Schools should realize the importance and temporality of the chances resulted from MOOC,encourage their teachers and students to take full advantage of MOOC.Schools should also pay enough attention to their human capital-English teachers,to improve their competitiveness and enhance English teaching;For the purpose of energy saving and sustainable development schools should take the cost and benefit analysis under MOOC into consideration to a certain extent.English Teachers should realize the great changes of their value and roles under MOOC,be open-minded and manage to introduce native teaching materials of real world as well as virtual reality into their own classroom teaching.They should realize the importance and possibilities of learning from native teachers.Meanwhile,they should build a reasonable attitude towards MOOC with the help of effective teaching theories.They should realize the threats presented by MOOC,and make full use of their language advantage to build up their career of ESP,to encourage students to spend more time on English and develop unique courses for MOOC learners.Students should have a new view about the importance of English under MOOC,they should try their best to learn English and their majors as well.They should realize a new channal of English learning is provided for them under MOOC-to aquire English while learning subjects related to their majors.They are required to challenge this method and make full use of MOOC to spend much more time on English learning,to figure out their comparative advantages and to grasp a skill to fullfull life long learning.All in all,due to the importance of English under MOOC,the researcher offered some suggestions for colleges and universities to make sound policies as to English teaching,some suggestions for teachers to build up their career and some suggestions for students to participate in MOOC and to fulfill all-round development with the aid of MOOC.It is hoped that the suggestions could do some help to promote full development of schools,English teachers and their students.
