MOOC has a great impact on the setting and teaching mode of traditional college English curriculum. China’s College English teaching should not only keep up with the trend of online education, but also examine the advantages and disadvantages of MOOC resources application in College English teaching, foster strengths and get rid of shortcomings in developing and applying of MOOC resources, thus improving the quality of College English Teaching truly.The main content of this paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter analyzes the present situation and related research in the application of MOOC resources in China’s College English Teaching, analyzes the causes of poor application of MOOC resources in College English Teaching. The second chapter discusses the role of MOOC resources in promoting the quality of College English Teaching from seven helpful aspects. 1) promoting the teaching idea, 2) improving the teaching mode, 3)improving college students’ autonomous learning ability, 4) improving students’ ability of language application, 5) improving teachers’ teaching ability, 6) innovating the construction of College English curriculum, 7) sharing quality education resources. The third chapter expounds the disadvantages in the application of MOOC resources in College English teaching, such as ignorance of suiting teaching to learner’s aptitude, hindrance to deep learning, lack of emotional teaching and unsound learning evaluation mechanism. The fourth chapter puts forward 8 strategies in the research,development and application of MOOC resources in College English Teaching: 1) change the idea of teaching and enhance the level of teachers’ information technology; 2) explore the teaching model and strengthen course adhesion; 3) step up publicity attention and encourage learners’ active participation; 4) build a harmonious teacher-and-student relationship and promote the communication and interaction; 5) establish a young teaching team and inject vitality into curriculum development; 6) improve the learning evaluation system and complete the management mechanism; 7) formulate sound plans and regulations and normalize English learning MOOC environment; 8) establish a diversified investment mechanism and promote the sharing of quality MOOC resources.The conclusion emphasizes the research perspective, the main ideas and some innovations, pointing out the shortcomings of present research and the direction of future research and with some the specific problems presented.
