This dissertation is a grammatical description of Luobuzhai vernacular of Qiang Language,belonging to Tibeto-Burman Group of Sino-Tibetan Family and spoken in Yanmen,Wenchuan County,Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan Province.This dissertation falls into six parts.Chhapter 1 is an introduction.Chapter 2 discusses the phonology.Chapter 3 introduces the vocabulary and word-formation in Luobuzhai vernacular.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are about the morphology and syntax of Luobuzhai vernacular.Chapter 6 is an conclusion.Chapter 1 is a preliminary introduction to the geography and language of Luobuzhai.Then,related literature has been reviewed.After that,the present study's,theoretical framework,research methodology as well as source of corpus are also included in this part.Chapter 2 focuses on the inventory of initials,finals,tones and the syllable structure in Luobuzhai vernacular.We compare the current phonological system with the former ones which were compiled by Wenyu and FuMaoji in 1943.Chapter 3 discusses the word-formation in Luobuzhai vernacular.Syntactic words are first defined by means of typological analysis,and then word-formations are analyzed under the framework of syntactic words.Chapter 4 presents the morphology of Luobuzhai vernacular with a focus on nominal morphology,verbal morphology as well as other morphological markers and their forms and functions.Chapter 5 is about syntax of Luobuzhai vernacular with a focus on the order of phrase structure,internal structure of simple clauses as well as complex sentences.This part examines the basic constituent order of nominal and verbal phrases construction,interrogative,copula/existential/locative construction,comparative construction,serial verb construction,complement clause,relative clause,coordinate clause and adverbial clause.Chapter 6 is a conclusion of the typological characteristics in Luobuzhai vernacular.
