This dissertation covers the subject of Hui-chou ink-maker Fang Yü-lu and his Fang-shih Mo-p'u in Wanli period,starts with the images of Fang-shih Mo-p'u,using the method of iconology to analyzing and combing the clues and connections between Mo-p'u and Bo gu-tu,Kao gu-tu,painting and calligraphy,inscription rubbing.Under the premise of discussing the publishing background of Fang-shih Mo-p'u and the personal experience of those who participate in the Mo-p'u,focus the tracing of Ink-stick images source and identification of the inscription and ink-stick seals,And further discuss the artistic style in late Ming dynasty “retro” and “modeled after”tendencies.Chapter one discusses Fang-shih Mo-p'u actually is not only a general knowledge integration contain heaven,earth and man from the perspective of “general knowledge” which E.H.Gombrich put forward,but also a classificatory book including all inclusive universe,and review on Mo-p'u images of source.Chapter two describes the classification of Chinese way of thinking and the characteristics of classifications in Fang-shih Mo-p'u,and from the articles and the ink-stick cases analyses that Fang-shih Mo-p'u is not the catalog for inkcakes as traditional opinion,the most important purpose of publication was to pursue piracy of ink-sticks of Fang Yü-lu.Chapter three further reveals the Fang-shih Mo-p'u can be seen an elegant game results originated from the elite scholars and celebrities of Wanli period,and also expatiates the personal experience and interest of Wang dao-kun which is the biggest supporter of Fang-shih Mo-p'u,at the same time reveals the circle of friends of Wang dao-kun and the customized ink-sticks for them by Fang Yü-lu,clarifies the participants homemade ink-stick as well as the scholar traditional of ink-making.Chapter four differentiates and analyses the source of the ink images respectively from Bo gu-tu,inscription rubbings and ink-seals,bronze mirror and ancient paintings.Chapter five prove that Gu-Yü Tu-p'u plagiarized almost a quarter of ink images of Fang-shih Mo-p'u by comparing the Fang-shih Mo-p'u and Gu-Yü Tu-p'u,Gu-YüTu-p'u is clearly a fake ancient jades reference book which was the people in the Ming or Qing dynasty climacus in Song dynasty.
