It has been well documented that self-report measurment is one of the most popular methods in psychometry.Although the advantages of self-report measurments include information richness, motivation to report, casual force, and practicality, etc.,it still faces several challenges, such as the accuracy of self-perception,intentional response distortion, and the validity of assessment instruments, etc. In addition,it is still lack of evidences on the objective mesurements of personality as well as the representation of personality on micro behavior.By combining newly developed self-association learning paradigm and eye movement technique, the present study aimed to assess whether the magnitude of self-bias effect correlated to personality traits and examine if individual differences in personality can be marked using eye-tracking technique. We first developed a behavioral experiment to measure the consistency between selfand other-perception of personality. We manipulated the instruction of self-report as either real-self ratings or ideal-self ratings. The results in study 1 showed that real personality(real-self rating)was highly correlated with objective personality(personality perceived by others)in the dimensions of extraversion, conscientiousness and openness;in contrast with the dimensions of agreeableness and neuroticism, the real personality was significant related to self-idealized personality. The results on study 1 indicate that the accuracy of self-perception varied cross different personality traits and individuals tend to overestimate themselves in a positive way, which is well-known as self-enhancement effect. In study 2,by correlatinging the magnitude of self-bias effect with the score of Big Five personality dimensions,we tested the relationship between self-salience and personality traits. The results showed that higher self-bias effect was linked to extraversion as well as lower conscientiousness. This provides evidence that Big five personality can be connected to cognitive aspects of the self.By using time reproduction paradigm, the study 3 aimed to measure whether and how self-representation modulated temporal perception. The results revealed that self-association reduced motion induced time dilation effect, which lead to subject durations were more closed to physical durations. The data indicate time perception can benefit from the modulation of self-binding.In order to investigate how self-related information modulated spatial perception,in study 4 we adopted smooth pursuit eye movement paradigm and recored the eye movement performances in the condition of self-and other-binding.The results found that compared to other-related neutral shape, there was increased maintenance gain, diminished RMSe and reduced saccade frequency in self-related neutral shape among low-mood participants. The data indicate self-binding modulates the deficits of smooth pursuit eye movement in individuals with low-mood.In the last study,we tested how personality traits and psychiatric disorders represented on eye movement during response processes in personality test. The results showed psychiatric disorders characterized more slowed and complicated eye movement patterns, which reflected more frequent fixations and saccades. Moreover, the eye movement patterns of psychiatric disorders were less sensitive to the word “self”,including the existence of “self”,the position of “self” and the frequency of “self”.The present study indicates eye movement may be a promising biomarker for multi-fusioned psychometric technique. In conclusion,by using the eye movment based multi-fusioned psychometric technique, the present project demonstrated a reliable self-bias effect cross self-perception,time perception, spatial perception and response process of personality test. The findings revealed that self-bias effect not only related to personality, but also modulated the temporal perception and smooth pursuit eye movement.Meanwhile, eye movment based multi-fusioned psychometric technique can be used to identify personality traits and psychiatric disorders.
