Emotional expression,as an important part of emotional intelligence,refers to the ability to express or convey the emotional experience in verbal or nonverbal form.College students,who are in the important stage of their life development,represent intellectual youth.As their emotional expressions are closely related with their physical and mental health,interpersonal communication and social adaptation,which has gradually attracted global scholars' attention in recent years.However,according to current researches,there are many deficiencies and limitations about emotional expression: The perspective of the concept research is single;Dimensions of structural research are different;Current researches need to be refined;Influencing factors fail to reveal in depth;Intervention promotion lacks pertinence strategy;Especially on influencing factors and intervention about China's college students' emotional expression,there is still a lack of systematic theory and empirical basis.In view of this,based on previous researches on emotional expression,this paper carries out a basic and education application oriented research into college students' emotional expression from the trait(static perspective)and state(dynamic perspective),through methods of literature analysis,theoretical speculation,interview,questionnaire,experiment and so on.The research can not only enrich the important theory in the field of emotional expression,emotional intelligence and emotional psychology research,but also is of great significance in practice for providing college students with self-help resources to promote their healthy growth,for offering an effective way for mental health work in colleges and universities and for supplying practical guidance for the ideological and political work in colleges and universities.This dissertation mainly undertakes concrete empirical researches from the following three aspects:The first part of the empirical researches concentrates on the characteristics of the general situation of college students' emotional expression by investigative research.In this part,the specific contents include: Firstly,develop a questionnaire on college students' emotional expression from the static perspective of traits.And then,perform a questionnaire survey and in-depth interview with contemporary college students to examine their specific status characteristics,thus providing tool support and empirical basis for follow-up research.The second part of the empirical researches focuses on factors influencing college students' emotional expression by empirical research.In this part,the specific contents include: from the perspective of traits and states comprehensively,on the hypothesis of factors influencing college students' emotional expression,questionnaire survey and experimental study are conducted to examine the overall influence of self,others,situation factors on college students' emotional expression,thus providing basis for further research.The third part of the empirical researches focuses on strategies of promoting college students' emotional expression by application research.In this part,the specific contents include: building promotion strategies according to the first and second part of the research results;developing targeted group counseling programs and examining effects on the enhancement of college students' emotional expression through field intervention research.From empirical researches above,this dissertation comes to conclusions as follows:1.The questionnaire on college students' emotional expression in this study is of good credibility and validity;it can be counted as means of evaluating college students' emotional expression.2.As a whole,college students' emotional expression embraces the following features: Inhibitory emotional expression is very common;Excessive emotional expression is disruptive;Adaptive emotional expression needs to be improved.There are substantive differences in gender,grade,major,only child or not,parental education.In all,the emotional expression of college students is influenced by individual,family,school,society and so on.3.Emotional expression is influenced by self factor.Personality extroversion,self-esteem,emotional intelligence and emotional expression are significantly correlated;Emotional understanding has obvious prediction effect on the adaptive emotional expression and so emotion regulation is the same with excessive emotional expression.Self-esteem could partly mediate the relationship between personality extroversion and emotional expression.However,the mediating effect of self-esteem was moderate by emotional intelligence.In fact,personality extroversion,as a moderated mediator,has an effect on emotional expression.4.Emotional expression is influenced by other humanfactors.Two groups of people with different relationships are tested.One is intimate and the other is unfamiliar.There are significant differences in their subjective reports,physiological indicators,and facial action expressions.In watching sad videos,there are significant differences between the two groups in the skin conductance,and higher than the unfamiliar group.There are significant interaction effect in their emotional pleasantness-unpleasantness,emotional intensity and laughter indicators In watching happy videos.There are also significant differences in the following indicators when the test is conducted between the people who response positively and the people who response negatively,such as the emotional intensity of the Facial Action Coding,the facial movement,the mouth movement,the time of silence.And the results show that the people who response positively score better than the people who response negatively.5.Emotional expression is influenced by situation factor.When the test is conducted between the group who is under high pressure and the group who is under low pressure,there are significant differences in their subjective reports,facial action and verbal expressions.And the results show that the group who is under low pressure performs better than the other group in the expression will,emotional intensity,cognitive depth,interactive response,speech number,time and words and so on.6.The promotion strategy and the group counseling programs designed in this study can effectively improve college students' emotional expression ability.
