Research On The Family Relationships Of Dunhuang Against The Background Of Mutual Action Of Confucianism And Buddhism

Dunhuang from the 8th to the 10 th is a special area in the development of Chinese history,in which family relationships by the ancient Chinese traditional ethics(mainly the Confucian ethics)and Buddhist ethics influence and function each other.A large number of retained historical data prove that family relatiomships of Dunhuang from the 8th to the 10 th century,as an individual case of ancient Chinese family ethics development,in the development and evolution of ancient Chinese family ethics,has realized mutual vertification of “theory”and “practice”both in Confucian family ethics and that in Buddhism,embodying diffcerence in identity and unity in diversity.Confucian ethics includes three aspects: ethical basis,ethical core and moral rule.The ideological source of Buddhist ethics includes three aspects: the cornerstone of ethics,the ethic criterion and the ethic standard.Confucian family ethics,the father ethics of “YanZhengCi CiFu strict” and the son ethics “salute to filial piety,teach the volunteers”,and the Buddhist ethic of“filial piety” and parent-child ethics,compose several practical ways of the 8th-10 th to parent-child relationships and the combination of Confucianism,Buddhism filial piety ethical characteristics.In Confucianism family ethics,the relationship between courteous husband and wife sharing joys and sorrows,is reflected in ethical norm and moral request followed by husband and wife when entering into a marriage and at its dissolution.In Confucianism and Buddhism,with the combination of politics and economic ethics,brothers of Dunhuang families show the ethical relation of cohabiting together,resisting the insult and loving compassion.Buddhism is popular in Dunhuang and spreads for a long time,and Buddhist organizations exist and deveiop in Dunhuang for a long time,which causes the changes of monk-worlding relationships in Dunhuang,that is,in a family,there is worlding in monk,monk in worldling and inter-dependency as well.Family ethics,education,the system implemented platform,ethics,status,etc.,make the mediaeval Dunhuang family ethics implemented,which is the continuation of Dunhuang family ethics under specific historical conditions and development.
