The Study On Strengthen Party Self-discipline Of Gutian Conference

The Gutian Conference is an extremely important meeting in the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Since the Gutian Conference Resolutions creatively answered the unprecedented problem of how to build an advanced proletarian party in a backward rural environment and then significantly opened the milestone of the Chinese revolution to victory, the Gutian Conference is possessed of an extraordinary valuable ideological wealth on the Party Building and Army Building. From the perspective of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline, this paper commits to promoting the research and education of the CPC’s history. By thoroughly analyzing the Gutian Conference’s contributions on the CPC’s building through creating a series of creative explorations, especially focusing on its theoretical origin, historical background, main contents and far-reaching impact, starting from the new strategies, new theories and new ideas of the CPC Central Committee since the 18th CPC National Congress of the CPC, this paper tries to explore the practical significance of the Gutian Conference’s thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. In order to achieve these research objectives more logically, the main text of this paper, in addition to the introduction and conclusion, consists of six chapters.The Introduction mainly explains the cause of the selected topic and its significance, the definition of the key concepts, the review of academic history at home and abroad and so on. Meanwhile, this part also tries to clarify the research ideas, research methods, the main content, the key & difficulty points and the innovations, all of which constitute the foundation of this thesis.Chapter One focuses on the theoretical origins of the Gutian Conference’s thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. From the perspective of theoretical thinking, this chapter combs Marx and Engels’s theory and practice of the construction of the proletarian parties, including the principles of preventing the party from degenerating, as well as Lenin’s theory and practice on the construction of new-type proletarian parties, which made a creative exploration of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. In addition, this chapter also explores the spreading of Marxist-Leninist’s thought on party building in China and their guidance to the CPC’s building practice in the early stage of the founding of the CPC.Chapter Two mainly examines the historical inevitability of the thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline proposed by Gutian Conference. From the perspective of historical thinking, by sorting out the process of the exploration of the Chinese Red Army, analyzing the origin of various mistaken ideas in the Fourth Army of the Red Army (FARA), this chapter examines the historical background, the main processes, and the key issues of the "Zhu-Mao Controversy" before the Gutian Conference. By taking the main emphasis on the CPC Central Committee’s important contribution to correct the main controversy within the FARA, this chapter analyses the preparations for the Gutian Conference made by the Hulei Conference, Zaokang Conference, Xinquan Training and the Seventh & Eighth Party Congresses of the FARA. Based on the above contents, this chapter will also elaborate Gutian conference’s scientific decision-making on the party’s ideological building, organizational building, propaganda and ideological work, military and political relations and other party building, which subsequently formed the CPC’s early thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. This historical inevitability, only by which the problems of the FARA, the problems of the CPC’s advancement in the rural area during guerrilla wars, and the problems of the CPC’s absolute leadership to the army can be resolved, is also further analyzed in this chapter.Chapter Three systematically analyzes Gutian Conference’s creative explorations on the thought of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. From the perspective of dialectical thinking, this chapter thoroughly analyzing Gutian Conference’s creative explorations on the relationships between military and politics, democracy and concentration, individuals and organizations, freedom and discipline, subjective and objective, the Red Army and the Masses etc, which closely related with the issue of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. During this process, the CPC has used a comprehensive, contact and development methods, by which the contradictions and problems in the disagreement have been scientifically resolved. When both sides in the contradictions reached a unified opinion, the fundamental law and essential requirement of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline in the early stage of the founding of the CPC was actively explored.Chapter Four summarizes the main contents of Gutian Conference’s thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. From the perspective of dialectical thinking, this chapter comprehensively summarizes the CPC’s exploration and practice of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline made by Gutian Conference, which can be further refined into six aspects as follows:taking the political army building as the breakthrough, taking the ideological party building as the fundamental, taking the strengthening foundation and body as the priority, taking the rectification of the inner-party life as the gripper, taking the strict discipline as the demand, and taking the institutional construction as the indemnification of the Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline, and by which the overall thinking of the thought of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline in the early stage of the founding of the CPC were constructed.Chapter Five discusses the far-reaching influence of Gutian Conference’s thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. From the perspective of strategic thinking, this chapter indicates that the establishment of the principle of political army building strongly built a military soul for the building of the new people’s army, the establishment of the principle of ideological party building opened a new approach for the advanced construction of the CPC, the establishment of the ideological line of seeking truth from facts provided a powerful weapon for promoting the ideological line advancing with the times, the establishment of the principle of inner-party struggle offered an important follow for the rectification movements, the establishment of the Mass Line provided a source of strength for the party to defeat the enemy and to achieve great performance, and finally the establishment of the party discipline and regulation provided an important ruler for Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline.Chapter Six clarifies that the Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline should be considered as the inheritance and innovation of Gutian Conference. From the perspective of creative thinking, this chapter firstly analyzes the practical considerations of the CPC Central Committee since the 18th National Congress of the CPC. By thoroughly elucidating that the Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline and Gutian Conference are of the same strain and advancing with the times, this chapter proposes that the thought on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline, as a new innovative thought system, is derived from the historical wisdom of Gutian Conference. And meanwhile, by focusing on the new connotation and new requirements of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline, the main contents of which can be summarized as follows:the core lies in enhancing the leadership of the party, the foundation lies in comprehensiveness, the key lies in strictness, and the crucial part lies in governance, this chapter then proposes that in order to promote the practice of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline in the new historical conditions, the valuable experience of Gutian Conference must be learned and used well, which requires continuing to insist the strategic approaches of party building, specifically including strengthening the ideological construction, the purity construction, the style construction, the discipline construction, the anti-corruption construction, and the institutional construction etc.The Conclusion principally clarifies several problems on promoting the practice of Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline. Firstly, it needs to overcome the interference of various negative thought. Secondly, it needs to prevent the deviation of the party building. Thirdly, it needs to pay attention to the proper methods of strict management. Fourthly, it needs to set the standard for testing the effectiveness of work.
