Research On Inheritance Of The Traditional “Xin”

Dishonest behaviors are not uncommon in modern society,which has been extremely hated,but people fail to do something to fix the problem,even break faith themselves actively or passively.In view of this,the state has issued a number of policies and regulations to encourage honesty and faith-keeping,discipline dishonesty.And integrity has also been included in the “Socialist Core Values”.Against this background,in order to cultivate and practice the honesty and credit values,specific measures to encourage people to be trustworthy are in great need.Great amounts of knowledge is inherited,and we gets rich support from the treasure of traditional Chinese culture by digging the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness)from the traditional classics,taking the outstanding ideas and measures from them.This paper elaborates the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness)from five aspects,that is the connotation,value,subject,regulation and cultivation of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness).It starts with the definition of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness),follows with reasons of being “Xin”(trustworthiness),a man of one's word and ends up with how to be “Xin”(trustworthiness).Specifically,the first part deals with the basic meaning of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness),with further tapping the connotation of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness),chengxin(integrity),yixin(righteous promise),lixin(courtesy),jinxin(care to promise),and zhongxin(loyalty and trustworthiness).Then this paper analyzes the relationship between the five,and proposes the significance of law-abidance,prudential and loyal faith in modern society and that trustworthiness is a crucial part of self moral education.Second,this paper inquires the basic value and normative value of traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness),analyzes the costs of breaking faith,and the negative value of keeping one's words blindly,and states the reflection of trustworthiness in modern society.Third,by sorting the subjects of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness)in the traditional works,the paper analyzes the feature of the subjects of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness): Advocating confidence without words,different requirements for different subjects,believing that trustworthiness is the nature of man,and then puts forward the inheritance for the idea of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness)subjects,including selecting trustworthy people to be officials,the government and its officials should take the lead in compliance with the law and abiding by the contract,stressing the special mission as a scholar and an adult child,and enhancing the ability of the promisee to maintain commitment.Fourth,regulatory ideas,forms of regulation,and regulatory features are also discussed in this paper.By exploring the regulatory concepts and measures of this traditional value,the paper proposes the regulatory principles and exceptions.Fifth,this paper talks about the concepts and measures of the cultivation of the traditional “Xin”(trustworthiness)from the aspects of goals,measures,resources,and characteristics,and puts forward making full use of the traditional resources in the future.
