The concept of short break has gained elevated consideration in current milieu because of its unequivocal effects on employee performance in specific and organizational productivity in general. In today's fierce business arena, copious organizations are employing short breaks and other mesmerizing HR practices to grasp competitive brink and to assure strong alliance with potential stakeholders. The potential applicability and benefit of short breaks in Pakistan labor market has been seldom scrutinized by research scholars. This dearth of research regarding short effects on employees' performance in developing country like Pakistan adds elevated significance to the research endeavor. The basic motivation behind conducting this study is to portray the lucid delineation of short break and stressed work environment on employee performance in telecommunication industry of Pakistan. As per the teachings of existing literature with regards to short breaks, researcher took the liberty of injecting additional variables in order to enhance the apprehensions and to deliver concise explication of short breaks with respect to stress environment and their effect of employees' performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention. Such scrutiny of variable association has seldom evaluated in the Pakistan's labor sector.This research study employed quantitative approach towards arriving at possible comprehension by employing the discernment of 369 respondents from leading telecommunication companies of Pakistan i.e. PTCL, Mobilink, Telenor, Ufone and Zong. The procedure adopted for sample selection is convenient sampling which encompassed respondents of variegated cadres. For gathering data, which accounts for the one of the pivotal element of the said research endeavor, the tool of primary data collection is utilized in which data were congregated by utilizing seven variegated questionnaires which were merged into one. The random distribution process of questionnaires is adopted by researcher and in order to devoid research from any kind of error questionnaire were personally directed. For the purpose of drawing inferences from data, variegated tools such as SPSS and AMOS were employed. Furthermore, frequency distribution shows the respondent's respond regarding the questionnaire served. SEM(Structural Equationing Model) has also been employed in order to see the best model fit. SEM carries tools like Measurement model,, Path model, correlation via measurement model, Mediation test, bootstrapping, correlation, standardized regression weights and finally Cronbach's reliability. Since the study engulfed qualitative variables, inferences were presented in the form of counts and percentages. The inferences drawn from SEM explicated the model fit between variables thus explicating the positive effect of short breaks on employee performance, job satisfaction, and turnover while negative effect on boredom and stress work environment. This explication briefly attaches itself to the fact that short break can assist to devoid the consequences of boredom and stressed work environment from job. The inferences drawn from reliability analysis portrayed data to be significantly reliable which means it can be validated in other situations. Correlation analysis expounded the association of dependent and independent variables, upon analysis significant associations were found among variables. The test of Path model is also employed which significantly succored in identifying the effect of independent(short break and stressed work environment) over dependent variables(employee performance, job satisfaction and turnover) with and without the presence of mediating variable(boredom).The consolidated portrayal of all these analysis proposed divert emphasis on introducing short breaks in order to free employee work environment form evils of boredom and stress, which will significantly pave a way to escalated employee performance, elevated job satisfaction and reduced turn over intention thus serving as phenomenon of competitive edge for organization.
