The contradiction between supply and demand of land resources is serious in coastal areas of China,the construction of industrial and urban areas has gradually become the main approaches for coastal cities to expand their space.There are also a lot of problems in the development process of reclamation area,such as the area is over-planning,the land is idle,the reclamation process is slow when apart from city and so on.Due to the history of industrial and urban construction of the sea-reclamation area has been short,not enough to carry out its own laws of growth,therefore,we choose coastal economic zones which have some similarities with the sea-reclamation areas for nature and functional orientation as a reference,for the study of the rules of its growth and related problems,at the same time provide the basis for the healthy development of the coastal economic zone.Supported city has always been playing an important role in the development of the coastal economic zone.Therefore,due to the different location relationship between the two,the influence of the supported city on the growth of the zone is mainly through transportation.And thus to explore the traffic location relationship between the growth of coastal economic zone and its supported city,reveal the influence mechanism of city on the spatial expansion and economic development of economic zone and provide references for rational planning and healthy development of coastal economic zone and sea-reclamation area and which is of great significance to guide the sustainable development of the coastal economic zone and the sea-reclamation area.The main research of the paper is as follows:(1)The overall development characteristics of the coastal economic zone were analyzed systematically.No authorities have yet released a full list of economic zones,so the paper combed the information about 482 economic zones in 53 cities by searching websites and yearbooks.And on the basis of which the paper discusses the process,spatial distribution and the characteristics of industrial and functional localization,from the time,space and intension of the coastal economic zone.In particular,the setting of the coastal economic zone is characterized by stages,through the change of the number and type of the zone.In the distribution of space,the coastal economic zone presents unbalanced distribution,which mainly forms the cluster area of Tianjin,Shanghai,Guangzhou as the center,and the urban agglomerations on the west side of the Straits,the agglomeration scale and intensity differences of the agglomeration area,the zone also show the concentration of each industry development situation,but also reflect the homogeneity problem.The coastal economic zone is the growth pole of regional economic development,which has led to the adjustment and upgrading of regional industrial structure,and its industry development and the function positioning because of the level and type of different and show the differences,and with the zone to enjoy preferential,support,and is closely related to the established standard.(2)By evaluating transport superiority,in this part the coastal economic zone transportation system has carried on the comprehensive evaluation,and on this basis,the impact of regional transportation system on the zone space expansion was discussed.It shows that the coastal economic zone is in a highly efficient and well developed transportation network,the higher transport superiority of economic zone of transportation hub city is,higher the spatial expansion intensity is.The choice of the spatial location and the expansion of coastal economic zone mainly include two trends:’to the city’ and ’to the sea’.The micro-location of economic zone and city led the space expansion ’to the city’,while port centered collection and distribution system attract the expansion of the economic zone ’to the sea’,and the urban traffic network is the main path of spatial distribution and expansion direction.(3)Starting from the relationship between coastal economic zone and supported city,the spatial expansion characteristics of different zones are studied quantitatively.Based on the relative position and commuting distance of the economic zone and the city,the coastal economic zone is divided into three types--away from city,in the edge of city and interior type—and which was conducting a study on spatial characteristics of the expansion and economic characteristics of these three types separately,using GIS Spatial Overlay Analysis.As the research reflects,development for 25 years,the largest expansion of the zone should not exceed 60 km2 in the current environment of economic development and land policy.Due to the influence of regional environment,there are differences in the spatial expansion of the three types of zones,when it away from city the expansion of the zone get the largest scale,fellow by the type in the edge of city,then interior type,the expansion pattern is multi-directional expansion,semi-circular expansion,endogenous expansion.However,the expansion of the zone is related to its stage of economic growth and peaked at the early stage and the ’second pioneer’ stage.The economic characteristics of the expansion of the zone show that the investment density is highest in the away from city type,the efficiency of the expansion of space is clearly increasing after ’second pioneer’ in the city-edge type and all three types of zones have contributed 16%of their economic contribution to the supported cities in 25 years.(4)This part constructs an index system of influencing factors for the economic development of the zone,and analyzes the influence of supported city on economic development of economic zone.Results of the study show that the influence of the city on the economic development of the zone is positive.The economic scale,investment capacity,science and education,human resources and other factors of the city provide adequate guarantee for the development of economic zone and the effect was above 0.8.(5)Through the establishment of panel data model of supported city investment impact on the economic development zone,and based on the quantitative research,the effect of the investment on the economic development of the zone is explored.Results showed that the influence coefficient of urban investment on economic development of the zone is 1.209,and it has been made clear about the general quantity relation between the investment in the city and the economic development of the zone.The fluctuation of he influence of the investment on the economic development of the zone is revealed,and its fluctuation range is 0.79%~1.09%.The role of supported city investment efficiency higher period mainly appear at the beginning of the zone construction,’second pioneer’ and the stage of transformation and upgrading,now rely on city investment and the influence of the economic development in the garden flat lower phase.
