The Causes And Effects Of The Evolution Of Manufacturing Industries' Export Quality

Speeding up the transformation of foreign economic development mode, improving the developing quality of foreign economy and exploring the scientific way of development are the most important strategies which China use to develop foreign economy(Li Yang &Zhang Xiaojing,2015;Hong Yingxing,2013), moreover these are ways that can help China 's development become healthy and sustainable. The practices show that improve the technical content of the products which China export is the best way for China to make above strategies successful, the key to improve the technical content of China's export is to narrow the export quality gap of China's and developed countries,and become a quality leader,not a quality follower(Hong Yingxing,2013;Yang Gaoju & Huangxianhai,2013).Which also means that China's traditional way of developing way is not sustainable now, that is way improving the export quality become the common problem which attract the concern both from the official and researchers.Base on the above reasons, this paper is trying to analysis the mechanism and the economic effects of the evolution of China's export products quality,with such purposes,we take advantage of "same method and same criteria of data" to estimate the export product quality of 169 economic entities and 31 provincial area of China, and find out provincial area's international status of export quality, then this paper use the several empirical test method to analysis the mechanism and economic effects of the evolution of export quality from cross countries and provincial level. Moreover we investigate the model of Chinese manufacturing firms' way of catch-up in export products quality, and conclude 7 cases of un-traditional way of catch-up, the main conclusion of this paper are shown as following.(1)China's export products quality and its international status improved a lot in the past several years,eastern China's export products quality is much higher than western China, and eastern China's export quality is as high as EU and USA,but western China's export is as low as under developing countries. China's export prices is much lower than other countries which have the same quality of China, which means that China offer an quality subsidy to all the countries which import products from China, it will benefit the importing countries a lot, but will make the profit margin of Chinese firms very low, it will have negative effects to Chinese firms' profit and their ability in quality progress.(2)The evolution of manufacturing industries' export products quality is a very compound system, which is influenced by a lot of factors, but economy development and accumulation of human resource are the main factors that promote the export quality. The update mechanisms of export products quality are different in developing countries and developed countries, the update mechanism of eastern China is also different from western China.(3) Spatial geographic advantages didn't have the positive effects to the manufacturing's update of exporting products quality, contractual geographic advantages will benefit a countries' export products quality. The reason that spatial geographic advantages didn't have remarkable effects to the export quality is the exist of Washington Apple Effects, The above results also mean that the free trade policies which are put forward by present government will not only benefit the expanding of export quantity, but also have positive effects to the export quality.(4) The aging population will force Chinese manufacturing industries export quality update, however the expand of young people might have a negative effects to export quality.The main reason of this situation come into being is that more aging people means more skill labor, it will benefit the upgrade of export quality. But the increase in dependency ratio means more supply in unskilled labor, which will slow the transform speed of labor intensive industries to capital intensive industries, it will result to a negative effects to the update of export quality.(5) The update of manufacturing industries export quality have positive effects to the expand of export, import, economic scale, FDI and patents. China's provincial empirical test results show that the update of export quality will have negative effects on the improvement of labors'income share,which means that the update of export quality and income double plan from the government have the potential of conflicts, so deal with the relation between export quality and labor income share properly will have very important sense to China.(6)Most of the catch-up provinces are eastern provinces, moderate catch-up will benefit both the update of export quantity and quality,excessive catch-up policies will have negative effects to both the update of export quantity and quality. The Stopler-Samuelson proposition didn't fit with China's economy situation,Chinese firms have the "sluggishness in quality update", and entrepreneur is an important factor that pushes the update and catch up of the export products quality.Base on the above results, this paper puts forward some advices to the evolution of China export quality. Such as enlarge the investment in high quality industries'; Increase strengthen in talents cultivation and talents introduction; Improve the quality of FDI and introduce more FDI to western China; Cultivate and better the market power of Chinese firm; improve the export prices properly to change the situation of "high quality but low prices",so that the Chinese firms update of export quality can get more profit power; better the system of"eastern ,central and western China manufacturing capability corporate platforms" and"eastern ,central and western China research corporate platforms", which will speed up the catch-up of western China export quality catch-up; bring into full play of free trade zone and"one belt one way",and get more contractual geographic advantage for the update of export quality, cultivate entrepreneur and improve the firm owners' initiative to improve the quality(decline the sluggishness; encourage manufacturing firms to use the policy of "bend undertaking",so that they can take advantage of their advantage in traditional industries to get first move advantage in high technology industries export quality. In the end this paper put forward some future research trend of this paper.
