With the rapid development of the Internet of Things,a large number of widely distributed sensors are needed to constantly track and monitor the state of objects.The energy supply required to drive these sensors is an urgent problem.Since the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)can harvest the mechanical energy in the environment and convert it into electrical energy,it can be used as a self-powered power source and a self-powered sensor,which will exhibit significant advantages and play vital roles in the intelligent system.Based on the self-powered sensing characteristics of the TENG,a variety of TENGs were constructed in this paper and the potential applications of these TENGs in intelligent system were explored.The including a large-area flexible TENG designed by commercial polyvinyl chloride(PVC)flooring and applied for intelligent floor,a TENG with polar molecule polydopamine tuned triboelectric interface and applied for intelligent shoes,and a flexible TENG constructed by bio-waste swim bladder film and applied in intelligent electric skin.The main contents are as follows:1.A flexible single-electrode TENG(FS-TENG)was fabricated by a simple addition of copper film to commercial PVC flooring as a conductive layer.The highly linear voltage response to the applied force of the FS-TENG breeds a sensitive self-powered motion sensor.A large-area intelligent power floor(LIPF)based on FS-TENG and the function of activity recognition has been realized.In addition,by connecting the LIPF to a wireless system,unique applications as trajectory tracking,security monitoring and intelligent switches have been demonstrated.These self-powered multifunctions endow the LIPF more potential applications in the field of smart home.2.A lightweight,flexible,single-electrode TENG was developed by a chemical method to tune triboelectric interface with the polar molecule of polydopamine.The TENG shown better electrical performance than the polydopamine-free TENG,which could not only self-powered drive the LED lights on the shoes,but also charge the capacitors.In addition,as an active pressure sensor,the TENG has a good detection capability for external pressure.The TENG has a great application prospect in wearable electronic devices.3.A biodegradable swim bladder film-based TENG(SBF-TENG)was constructed,and applied to smart electronic skin(E-skin).The SBF-TENG acts as an active sensor could detect acceleration,ambient humidity,non-contact distance and position.Combined the E-skin based on the SBF-TENG with the wireless system,which could realize the function of smart switch.This kind of natural SBF-TENG exhibited the characteristics of ultra-thin,ultra-flexible,ultra-light and self-powered sensing,which is expected to further improve the bionic level of E-skin and provide new ideas for human-machine interfacing,intelligent interface and prosthesis.
