The tunnel lighting system is an important part to ensure the vehicular traffic traverses the road tunnel in a safe way.The intelligent control of tunnel lighting system is an effective method to balance the traffic safety and energy consumption.In order to implement the intelligent control of 18 tunnels in Jinlin Province of Heda highway,LED dimming methods,selection of the correlated color temperature(CCT)of LED light source in the tunnel interior zone and drivers' eye movement parameters at the tunnel entrance are studied based on theoretical calculations,statistical analysis and field test.The main research contents of this thesis are as follows.An intelligent tunnel lighting control system based on the fusion of multiple sensors,environmental information perception,vehicle information perception,and closed-loop feedback control technology is proposed.When the approach of a vehicle is detected by the system,the lighting system will calculate the demand luminance of each section in the tunnel according to the environment information,vehicle speed and traffic volume.At the same time,the actual luminance of tunnel pavement is detected and adjusted in real-time,aims to ensure the actual luminance satisfies the luminance requirement.When no vehicles are detected in each section,the LEDs would be adjusted to their minimum luminance level.The operation results showed that the dimming method proposed in this thesis has a notable energy-saving effect and makes a significant contribution to China's green lighting project.In view of the unbalanced traffic volume distribution in the tunnel,the traffic volume is divided into several periods according to the time by using data mining technology.Then a real-time adaptation dimming method is proposed by analyzing the time interval of LEDs works in their minimum luminance level.Tunnel operation results showed that the real-time adaptation dimming method extends the life of the tunnel lighting system as well as has a significant energy-saving effect.An equivalent luminance calculation model applicable to mesopic visual lighting region and considers the fog permeability is proposed.The calculation results of this model can realize the reasonable selection of CCT of the LED light source.Furthermore,the reaction time measurement system is designed based on the human visual performance,and the reaction time of human eyes under different CCTs,background luminance,target contrasts,and eccentricity degrees is measured.The experiment results verified the validity of the calculation model.A method for describing the variation trend of eye movement parameters with tunnel factors by using multivariate correlation analysis is proposed.Drivers' eye movement characteristics when entering the tunnel under different vehicle speeds in the daytime and nighttime are analyzed.Experimental results provide the data basis for optimizing the design of tunnel threshold zone luminance.
