Research On Transparency Of Landscape Architecture And Design Approaches Based On Revealing Differences

The background of time-space compression and the resulting human settlements environment issues requiring new design approaches for contemporary landscape construction.From the view of landscape architecture,this study translates “transparency” in the field of art and architecture into the context of landscape architecture,build the theoretical framework of transparency in landscape architecture.Transparency is used as a research medium and its design-oriented role is used to propose a framework of design approaches based on “revealing differences” and subject-object relationship.To cope with pluralism,visualize differences and respond to contemporary landscape issues,this research content is divided into three parts: historical theory research-design theory and case interpretation-methods and application context research.By studying,combing and classifying the historical theories of other related disciplines,this research analyzes the ontological features and triadic system of landscape space,defines the concept of transparency in landscape architecture category,and puts forward its application value: the mutual recognition ways of subjective and objective;valuing both the single layer and the whole overlapped structure;the mutual feedback between tactics and strategy in the design process;highly related subject-object bond;expanding the subject's insight.Through the establishment of analysis space model and case base,this research analyze the presentation levels: interface,space and chronotope.Through the study of the changes in the value orientation of contemporary landscape design and the responsibility of landscape intervention in the human settlement environment,the corresponding design approaches and practice of revealing differences are studied,which are divided into the following aspects: integrating differences,contrasting differences,folding differences and juxtapose differences.Also,a comparative study of the the values,driving forces,methods of use and presentation of the differences in landscape are analyzed.On this basis,the work path of the design approach established,including the establishment of the multi-layer structure system,the semantic construction,the space "in between",including “thickness” “interstice” “porosity”,and so on.At the same time,the specific guiding role of transparency in landscape is discussed.In the end,the three applicable contexts and corresponding methods in landscape practices in China are discussed,including the activation of urban leftover space,the revival of rural landscape and the landscape architectural reconstruction of post-industrial site.The significance of this study is embodied in three aspects: first,it is based on the value of transparency in landscape interpretation and application;second,it is a new key word and theory system for the landscape space;the third is,it is a new design method system under the contemporary context and value system,and can be a design guidance to solve the problem of negative effects of time-space compression.On the basis of the basic design value of revealing differences,how to resist time-space compression negative effect through the guidance of "transparency" and to realize the value increment are discussed.
