Research On Ecology-Oriented Development Pattern And Planning Strategy For Urban-Rural Space In Xi'an

Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up,China's urban-rural social economy has achieved an unprecedented scale and speed and the living standard of residents has been significantly enhanced.However,along with the development of social economy,a large number of environmental problems break out centrally owing to the developmental concept,growth mode,management system and other aspects such as air pollution,water pollution,waste of land resources,disorder of urbanization,damage to biodiversity,etc.To solve the above problems,Chinese government has taken “building ecological civilization and promoting green development” as an important concept for governance in the new era.Meanwhile,more and more cities begin to integrate the “ecological environment protection” into the urban development and construction such as the “green eco-city” of Beijing,“landscape eco-city” of Guangzhou and “eco-city with a bay landform” of Xiamen.Thus it can be seen that how to coordinate urban-rural development with ecological environment protection has become the key for the sustainable development in China which shall be solved.Confronted with unordered expansion of urbanization,waste of land resources,water pollution and other problems,how to seek for advanced scientific methods will be particularly necessary to optimize the development order of urban-rural space and to protect limited eco-environmental resources,which has also become the leading edge for disciplinary researches including urban-rural planning,urban geography and eco-environmental science.Taking the urban-rural space in Xi'an as the empirical area,research has been carried out on its ecology-oriented development pattern and planning strategy thorough the systematic summary and conclusion of relevant research findings and practical experience,in combination with the mainstream trend of the study on the relationship between environmental protection and urban-rural development,by means of theories and methods of ecology,geography,economics,management,urban-rural planning,etc.The research framework has been constructed for the development pattern and planning strategy of urban-rural space to improve its theoretical system to some extent;based on the empirical evaluation and analysis of Xi'an,systematic construction has been carried out on the development goal,development framework,structural model,planning strategy,support and guarantee,which is of positive significance in transforming the development pattern,improving the development quality and renovating the ecological environment in Xi'an in the ecological orientation.The paper can be divided into three parts including 8 chapters.Part I is the research review and theoretical basis including Chapter 1 and 2.In this part,research background,significance,framework and methods have been mainly elaborated.Research contents,progress and practices at home and abroad related to urban-rural space have been summarized from an ecological perspective to figure out ecology-oriented theoretical basis and practical experience for the development of urbanrural space.Part II is about the spatial characteristics and problem review including Chapter 3 and 4.First of all,the history of developmental trajectories of urban-rural space in Xi'an has been investigated based on the time dimension to summarize its evolution law in terms of dynamic mechanism and global feature of the evolution.Then,existing problems in the urban-rural development and construction in Xi'an have been identified through the summary of urban-rural ecological construction and evaluation on its status.In addition,systematic analyses have been carried out on the ecological impact mechanism generated by existing problems.Part III is the theory application and practical exploration including Chapter 5,6 and 7.First of all,based on the ecology-oriented new value orientation,development objectives and evaluation systems for urban-rural space in Xi'an have been reintegrated and re-established to formulate the “rule” and “principle” for the planning of municipal and urban space.Moreover,systematic methods and specific technological paths have been taken to formulate the construction strategy of municipal ecological security pattern and urban spatial planning strategy at the level of region and city proper respectively.In the end,the support and guarantee system for the urban-rural space development and construction in Xi'an have been constructed based on the two-in-one logical architecture of “technical support-management guarantee-institutional innovation”.
