The remarkable change of history-the commencement of'The Cultural Revolution"made the Jingdezhen faience figure sculptures widely different from those of any other time with distinctive characteristics.Focused on Jingdezhen faience figure sculptures made during "the Cultural Revolution" whose political environment and artistic situation were selected as the research background,this paper is completed based on a production-oriented study:directing to the real object and facing up to productions.The modeling language,pattern language and decorative language can best highlight the features of Jingdezhen faience figure sculptures created during "The Cultural Revolution" which are the focus of the this study,including the historical background,theme,content,action,props,size,technology and other aspects that can embody the features of the works.The research was carried out based on the sculpting,the shape,decoration features and implementation mode.Based on the contents mentioned above,the following aspects can highlight the research features of this paper:1.This paper has a vertical-horizontal logic cue.The horizontal cue is that Jingdezhen faience figure sculpture is transforming from traditional mode to modern mode in forming the features of figure sculptures during "The Cultural Revolution";the changes of the style of works focus on the style and features of works in the political environment.The vertical cue is that how these changes were reflected through theme,design,formative technology and decoration as well as firing process,the problems occurred in this process,solutions and final results as well as how did the works associate with,deviate from and integrate with the traditions.2.This research presents a basic theoretical perspective,namely the research on"porcelain sculpture during The Cultural Revolution" is classified into the research of Jingdezhen porcelain sculpture under the overall transformation framework from traditional mode to modern mode after 1950s.3.Works of "collective creation" and "individual creation" are researched respectively.4.As Jingdezhen porcelain sculpture during the Cultural Revolution presents special features in sculpting and pattern language,"edge line" and"positive and negative space" are used especially as an important approach to study the sculpting and pattern language.This paper quests for the tracing of Jingdezhen faience figure sculpture during "The Cultural Revolution" from the macroscopic perspective and compares it with the traditional faience figure sculpture.Finally,this research got the following conclusions:(1)recognize the style and features of Jingdezhen faience figure sculpture during "The Cultural Revolution";(2)summarize the embodiment of the"energy" of Jingdezhen faience figure sculpture during "The Cultural Revolution";(3)extend to the exploration and thinking on the modeling language of porcelain figure sculpture.
