Research On The Chinese Contemporary Literature Award Institution

The literary award,the institution of which has always been constructed in the interaction of certain cultural policies,various forces in the literary field and the specific large scale literary awarding activities,is an important component of the production of literary value,and an important part of the mechanism of literary judgment.Since the activity of "the Best Short Novels in 1978",which could be taken as the milestone of the establishment of the institutional selection mechanism in Chinese contemporary literature.The institution of contemporary Chinese literature,lying in the core of which are the National Best Short Novel Award,the National Best Novella Award,the Mao Dun Literary Award,and the Lu Xun Literary Award,has become an important part of the institutional system of 20th Century Chinese literature that can never be ignored.However,as a result of the dynamic development of literary awarding and defects of the institutional construction of awarding,the research of the institution of the literary awards in Chinese contemporary literature has never been out of the limits of narrow sight,simplification of object,and the blind and random research inclination devoid of sophisticated structures.Basing on Robert Escarpit's"sociology of literature",Michel Foucault's"archaeology of knowledge" and Pierre Bourdieu's "field theory",this dissertation has digged into the plentiful historical materials and expanded the theoretical dialects in the stature of "returning to the historical scene",so as to cover all the awarding activities in the 20th century in researching,therefore,the academic gaps of the"historical origin" of the literary award of Chinese contemporary literature would be filled in,what's more,many theoretical errors would be corrected on the basis of consensus.The dissertation has investigated into the establishment,development and correction of the national awards of novel which could be regarded as the core of the Chinese contemporary literature,and then offers a constructional research of gaming and struggling of the forces in the literary field,which appear behind all sorts of changes,simultaneously,the necessary analysis of the dominant principles,aesthetic disposition and institutional defects of the Chinese contemporary literature awarding has been made as well.The dissertation has been divided into four parts.The first chapter,"pre-institutional design":the historical origin of Chinese contemporary literature awarding.Three aspects,such as the three mechanisms,the institutional invention of the first Chinese contemporary literature award,and the fruitful achievement of the Chinese contemporary literature have been taken as the starting point of this chapter,in order to find out the connection between the literary awards of modern time and "17 years"and the establishment of the institution of Chinese contemporary literature in the new era.Firstly,the three mechanisms of the Chinese contemporary literature awarding.With the regional differences among districts ruled by Kuomingtang,the liberated districts and enemy-occupied areas all been taken into cconsideration,this section has systematically and empirically analyzed the non-governmental awarding mechanism,the literary and artistic organizational mechanism and personal subsidy mechanism,so as to reveal the reason why a real awarding institution and the national consensus on which had never been established in the history of Chinese modern literature.Secondly,this section has collected,sorted out and investigated into the prototype editions of Journal of Literature and Art(from No.1 to No.13),and developed two approaches from the invention "ending with no results" to " open the judgmental ways" and expanded the discussion of the rarely known academic affairs in the Chinese contemporary literature,which means the "selection of the literary and artistic works" that is operated the same time with The First Representative s Conference of Chinese Writer and Artist,therefore,it has corrected the knowledge defects of the research of the institution of the Chinese contemporary literature awarding,and fills in the gap of the research of the literary and artistic institution of the new China.Thirdly,the important achievement of the Chinese contemporary literature awarding in the 17 years.This section has affirmed the "worldly influences" of the Chinese contemporary literature through the opposite scenes of "overseas blooming" and "domestic withering",which could be considered as the indirect explanation of the fact that literary awards serve only as the foil of the literary criticism in the 17years,and the judgmental approach of the literary value has never been institutionalized.The second chapter,the appeal of modernization:the establishment of the Chinese contemporary literature awarding institution.Through the two approaches such as the reconstruction of the literary institution and the establishment of Chinese contemporary literature awarding institution,and with the plentiful historical materials,this chapter has investigated deeply into the connections between the establishment of Chinese contemporary literature awarding institution and the cultural imagination and will of the national new modernity;and the stable and solitary political situation and the lively literary and artistic situation as well as the moderate internal dissensus in the literary and artistic fields;and the legitimate argumentation of the political,economical and into the important influences of the recovering of the literary organization,the publication resuming of literary journals and the cultural policies adjustment to establishment of the Chinese in Chinese contemporary literature institution,this chapter has performed the statistics approaches so as to systematical interpreted the developing trajectories of the Chinese contemporary literature the Chinese contemporary literature institutional have been corrected in certain degrees.The fourth chapter,game of discourse right:the correction of the Chinese contemporary literature award institution.This chapter has taken the difficult situation?structural situation and changing situation of the award institution as the starting point,and digged deeply into the correction of the Chinese literature award institution,the core of which has been the Mao Dun Literary Award and Lu Xun Literary Award since the 1990s.(1)the difficult situation of the Chinese contemporary literature judgment which based on the macroscopic and microscopic researches on the system of literary judgment supported by multi-subjects of literary judgment,such as the official award,literature and media award,non-governmental organization award,what's more,it has offered the theoretical and dialectic definitions on the gaming between judgmental elements such as the dominant ideology which appears in the national literary awards such as the Mao Dun Literary Award and the Lu Xun Literary Award and the literary autonomy,the literary elitist discourse and the popular taste of the readers,the market capital discourse and the literary autonomy.(3)the changing situation of the Chinese contemporary literature award institution.This section has made concrete and serious comparison between the rules of Mao Dun Awards and Lu Xun Awards,so as to make binary judgments on the virtues and problems of the award arrangement and the intervening mechanism,the awarding standards and the regulation mechanism,the award choosing operation and the creative mechanism,the awarding discipline and the avoiding mechanism.
