Due to geographical advantages,Buddhism and Taoism developed early and always prosperous in Eastern Gansu,the strong religious traditions made this region an important part of Gansu religious culture.It's an important opportunity for the development of Buddhism in eastern Gansu that the Emperors enfeoffed Han King at Pingliang in Ming Dynasty.The ranks of Han King had been inherited 10 generations in 218 years,which had a profound impact on political economic culture and people's livelihood in Pingliang and surrounding areas.The rich religious cultural heritage in Pingliang and Tianshui,showed that Han King had an important relationship with the religious development of Eastern Gansu.The study of this dissertation started from inscriptions grottoes and pagoda etc.cultural relics,and combined with the relevant literature records,made an objective and comprehensive study on Han King's support on religion of Eastern Gansu.Began with Hangong King built Guangfu Temple in Mingzhou in 1426,every generation of Han King built or rebuilt Dongta Temple,Yanxuan Taoist Temple,Dongyue Temple and Wanmu Palace in Pingliang and surrounding areas.The culture development measures are follows: built Kongtong Mountain as the Zhengwu Dojo,Promoted the formation of Jincheng Mountain as the center of the Taoist temple architecture community and the prosperity of official activities of the Taoist monastery in Kongtong Mountains,and also gradually changed Kongtong Mountain's religious pattern,make it become the famous Taoist mountain;Supported the construction of Zhuanglang Yunyasi,Dasi,and Xisi Grottoes etc.,which was a rare event of large-scale construction activities in the late development of Chinese grotto art history,and formed Yunyasi Grotto as the center of western side of Long Mountain Grottoes;Included Immortal Cliff in the official jurisdiction.Promoted religious prosperity of the integration of three religions in Immortal Cliff in Ming Dynasty.The influence of Han family to religious development in Eastern Gansu is dominated by Han King,and the other family members and government officials actively participate in religious activities,led the local people's faith direction,which made Shui-Lu Rites and some specific Taoist sacrificial ceremony very popular.The new change of Buddhism development in this period was the inheritance of Linji Zong,and Zhengyi Taoism and the Huashan School of Quanzhen Taoism became the mainstream of Taoism in this area,and also the integration of three religions and active folk belief appeared at the same time.The Han King's support for the development of religion in Eastern Gansu,not only related to their family faith tradition,official ideology,special political situation and wealthy economic conditions,but also because religious and cultural resources in Eastern Gansu had its unique geographical features,which was the main reason that Han King's support for the development of religion and its influence was different from other regions.The development of Eastern Ganu religion had been marked by the history of the Han King family in the Ming Dynasty,which made a new trend of development and a profound influence.
