Gansu was a Buddhism prosperous land in history, and eastern Gansu Buddhism as an important part of Gansu Buddhism, has been in development since Han Dynasty. It’s an important opportunity for the development of Buddhism in eastern Gansu that the emperor enfeoff King Han at Pingliang in Ming Dynasty. There are ten Kings of Han had been inherited in218years. All of them had vigorously supported the development of Buddhist during this period, and there are many womenfolk, imperial clans and ministers of Han family, also actively participated in these activities, all of these greatly promoted the development of Buddhism in eastern Gansu.There are three aspects of this paper:King Han and Pingliang Buddhism and Zhuanglang Grottoes, Immortal Cliff. According to supplement use of survey data and literature, arrange the relationship between King Han of Ming Dynasty and dogging Temple Grotto, Yunyasi Grotto of Zhuanglang, and creating East Pagoda, East pagoda Temple of Pingliang, and building Lingkong Pagoda, Shifang Temple of Kong tong Mountain, and developing of Immortal Cliff Buddhism as objectively and completely as possible. And then, on the basis of examining the King Han supporting Buddhism, combining King Han’s support the Taoist and the phenomenon of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism fusion in the Ming Dynasty, to discourse upon some problems about religious belief of King Han, the relationship between King Han and Eastern Gansu Buddhism, the reason of King Han supporting Buddhism, the impact of the local community form King Han supporting Buddhism, and so on. The purpose of this paper is to make some meaningful interpretation on the King Han and the Eastern Gansu Buddhism.
