The Research On Theatre Movement In Yan'an Between 1937 And 1947

History has made the lorn city of Yan'an important.The literary and artistic works of Yan'an period has influenced basically the literary form of twentieth century and the literary ideology of generations.If you want to evaluate theatre and the rest of arts of whole 20 th century in China,you have to face up to Yan'an period.The paper reviews and evaluates the theater movement of Yan'an from 1937 to 1947 and researches it from the perspective of the uniqueness about birth,system,popularization and reformation of theatre practices.According to the time-space background and the characteristics of the subject,the paper adopts the research path of movement history and performance history,and tries to sum up the experiences and lessons of Yan'an period in an objective manner.The paper argues that the theatre movement in Yan'an dispels the living space of theatre as an independent art from four aspects: guiding ideology,organization form,creative method and the function of theatre because of a single ideology.This present obvious historical limitations.The theatre movement in Yan'an that took place and developed in the context of national war,civil war and highly politicized history and culture.The establishment of literary and artistic policy and the theatre reformation are temporary and strategic and haven't demonstration effect beyond time and region.In the meantime,the theatre movement in Yan'an played an effective role in political propaganda,unifying idea and enlightening the people between 1937 and 1947.In addition,the Communist Party of China had defined clearly the direction of serving the masses of workers,peasants and soldiers.Its works in theatre created during Yan'an period were advanced in content and form.
