The Research Of Industrial Object Arts In Urban Renewal

Recently,most cities in China are now becoming the same in the process of development and construction.One way to do that is to preserve the urban culture.Industrial culture is an important part of the urban culture in one old industrial city which is contained in the industrial remains.The industrial object arts come from the industrial remains of Shenyang is the research object.With a focus on the three points such as current situation of the industrial objects' transformation in Shenyang,the role of the industrial object arts in urban renewal,experience and drawbacks of the settings of industrial object arts in Shenyang.So the results supplement the escape point in domestic academic circles and present a case for the research of urban public art in the old industrial city.The main content covers four parts and the research methods include field investigation,classification and iconology:First part,to investigate the current situation of Shenyang industrial remains from 2014 till now and calculate the distribution and quantity of the industrial object arts.These investigation and statistics are the foundations of the research;Secondly,classifying the industrial object arts according to the function,space and theme which aims to grasp the concrete domain and function of the industrial object arts in Shenyang completely.Thirdly,analyzing the reconstruction methods and meanings of the industrial object arts in Shenyang.The process of analyze with Erwin Panofsky's iconology can be divided into three steps,including functional meaning,traditional meaning and symbolic meaning.The specific meanings of the industrial objects could be useful to find the cultural roots and provide cultural support for the remolding of the industrial objects;The fourth part,exploring the concrete purpose and value of the industrial object arts in urban renewal by multiple dimensions which including environmental protection,culture,economy and vision.Findings are as follows that the industrial objects apply to sculptures and public facilities which can be divided into thirteen sub groupings.There are six methods that cover apposition,overlap,reset,assemble,color,borrow.Some objects containing the specific meanings have the value of remolding and it is important to choose and reserve these which we could adopt the method of iconology to excavate the meanings.The industrial objects has effectively been helping to drive the urban renewal form the four dimensions.Firstly,remolding of the industrial objects promotes the urban sustainable development.Secondly,the industrial object arts are the containers of memory.Thirdly,making symbol economy which comes from the image of the objects will be able to develop the correlation industries.Fourthly,shaping the landmark by making use of industrial objects will be elevate the city identity.As a result,the settings of industrial object arts in Shenyang have gained experience such as creativity thinking of translate industrial waste into objects art to preserve the unique features of old industrial cities and create new landscapes.Furthermore,analyzing and revealing the shortcoming of settings in Shenyang at present will be effective for the activities in that art would intervene in public space with the progress of urban redevelopment in the future.
