| Throughout the Ming Dynasty,Mongolia in the north was flourished in north of the Nine Border Areas which started from Liaodong in the east and reached Gansu in the west.It maintained complicated and close contacts and exchanges with Ming Dynasty in politics,military,economy and culture.The litterateurs of Ming Dynasty had created a large number of poems reflecting the cultural blending of the Mongolian and the Han nationality.Therefore,the thesis focuses on studying the Ming poetry which reflects the integration of the Mongolian and the Han people.Based on the collection of Ming Poetry with the theme of cultural blending and other relative materials from such documents and classics as official histories,unofficial histories,biographies,epitaphs,chronicles,prefaces and postscripts,notes on poetry,poetry anthologies,etc.,with the multi-perspectives of recording wars,writing borderlands,eulogizing peace,and writing responding poetry,the thesis studies thoroughly and systemically the poetry reflecting the cultural integration of the two ethnic groups and expounds the existence mode,unique form and value of the poetry,with a view to reconstructing the historical appearance and revealing the regularities of the cultural blending of the Mongolian and the Han people in Ming Dynasty.The first chapter elaborates the ideological and cultural connotation of Ming poetry which reflects the conflicts between Ming Dynasty and the northern Mongolia,with the purpose of revealing the conflicts and collisions between Ming Dynasty and the northern Mongolia and sparking the rational reflection of people on national wars.Depiction of wars is one of the prominent themes of Ming Poetry in the background of literature intermingle between the Mongolian and the Han nationality,and many poets at that time put forth their efforts on comprehensive description and rational deliberation on “Yongle Northern Expedition,” “T’u-mu Incident,” “Geng-xu Incident” and other momentous events in the history of Ming Dynasty.In the second chapter,the landscapes and defense situations of borderlands,the living scenes of soldiers,Han people and Mongolian people and the value and significance of such themes in Ming Poetry are expounded from the perspective of literary blending.The natural scenery and ethnic customs in the Nine Border Areas are depicted vividly in poetry of Li Mengyang,Xie Zhen,Fang Fengshi,Xu Wei and many other poets of Ming Dynasty,and the panoramic depiction of natural scenery,cultural landscape and people’s life of borderlands has always been an important theme of Ming poetry in the background of literary blending.In the third chapter,the author makes a systematic analysis of poetry with the theme of peace.The historic event “An Da Feng Gong” has been depicted and evaluated from multi perspectives---negatively or positively---in Ming poetry.The sharp contrast between the contradictory attitudes reflects the social atmosphere of Ming Dynasty,as well as the ethnic cultural psychology,political insights,and actual demands of the poets in Ming Dynasty in their emotional identification with the event “An Da Feng Gong,” and reveals the complex cultural relationship between the Mongolian and the Han people.The poems of Fang Fengshi and Xu Wei,with abundant descriptions of peaceful life in borderlands and profound theme of ethnic integration,have rich ideological contents,distinct artistic features and high literary values.In the fourth chapter,the author intends to explore the literary intercourse and poetic responsory between Mongolian poets and Han poets in the regime change from Yuan Dynasty to Ming Dynasty and in the Mid-Ming period.The literary intercourse and poetic responsory between Mongolian poets and Han Poets during the period of dynastic change reveals clearly the literary integration of ethnic groups,reflecting the influence of wars and regime change on the poetry creation,and provides us abundant literatures to understand the spiritual world of poets during the transitional period.In the Mid-Ming period,the Mongolian poet Su You and his descendants had frequent literary communication with many Han poets.The literary intercourse and poetic responsory between Su You family and many Han literati,such as Xie Zhen,Li Kaixian,Wang Shenzhong and Wang Shizhen,left us many poems as precious literatures about literary integration between the Mongolian and the Han nationality.The introduction gives a brief overview of Ming poetry and presents a systematic elaboration on the research status and research value of it under the background of literary integration.The conclusion brings insight into the complex interrelationship between Mongolian culture and Han culture in Ming Dynasty by dissecting Palace Poems of Yuan Dynasty,a vivid illustration of literary integration between the Mongolian and the Han nationality.To sum up,as precious materials for studying the history of cultural integration of the Mongolian and the Han people,the poetry with the theme of cultural blending enriched the poetry creation in Ming dynasty,and recreates a historic context in which the culture and literature of the two ethnic groups had integrated with and influenced each other.With its profound ideological connotation and high artistic value,such poetry is also an indispensible component of Ming Poetry and deserves a place on the stage of literary history. |
