From1612to1644, during this short period of Ming Dynasty, the vernacular novels was inits prime no matter in text editing or in publishing ’s line. By using the western theories ofcommunication and the communication skill which is the basic element of communication as thebreakthrough point, this thesis tries to explore how Huaben stories spread during the specialperiod of the late Ming Dynasty. The purpose of this thesis is not only to analyze and summarizethe communication skills and the law of development of vernacular novel, but also hope toprovide some academic supports and gain unprecedented progress for the theory construction ofliterature dissemination as the cross-discipline subject. three aspects will be mainly expoundedin exploring the vernacular novel communication skills and the causes as follow:The first part tries to study the communication skills of vernacular novels from the aspect oftext editing.it is this special social background of the late Ming Dynasty, that vernacular novelsformed its uniqueness. From the perspective of communication studies, the uniquecommunication skills in text editing of the vernacular novel mainly include for aspects: selectingan appropriate theme that can meet audiences’ demand, highlighting the character that can fitaudiences’ psychology and civilian consciousness, using various narrative techniques to attractthe audiences and to expand the scop of audiences with language that both refined and popular.These communication skills, starting from the audience perspective, the selling point as thecreation gist, strictly distinguished itself from the previous short novels with a clear commercialpurpose. Especially from the positive angle, these skills described business stories and merchantimage objective and fair, which highlighting the particular feature of the era.The second part tries to explore the unique communication skills of the vernacular novelfrom the aspect of publication ’s line. With the development of social productivity, the printingtechnique has been greatly improved and bookstores can be found all over the country.Especially, on the behalf of the south river land, the commercial publication brought newrevolution for the and the vernacular novel. Taking the market competition, marketing promotion,won the audience, profits and other aspects into account, the bookstores made an attempt topackage the novels from the title to the content, even from the text to the illustrations. Thenovels are often the books with multiple advertising methods and communication means, whichshowed the its commercial and disseminated properties. The communication techniques in thepublication ’s line mainly include advertising, graphic illustrations, and increase the additional,interspersed with commentary, featured publishing and else brand.The third part focuses on the causes of the communication skills of vernacular novels. Thevernacular novel have sprouted since Tang Dynasty and got continuously developed in Song and Yuan Dynasties, until the late Ming Dynasty, it appeared to be extraordinary splendor, whichwas closely linked with the unique social background.The commercial thought and the expansion of audiences in Song and Ming dynasties, evenwith the development of printing techniques and the vernacular novel style, all of thesefactors have contributed to the rapid spread of vernacular novels.
