Hasar-orog?family?consists of Hasar?Genghis Khan's brother,one of the meritorious statesmen of the Mongolian Empire?and his lineal descendants.Up to the preliminary stage of the Yuan Dynasty,the Hasar-orog had formed to one of the powerful political groups in the eastern Orogs of the Mongolian Empire.It deeply influences Mongolian Empire and plays an important role in Mongolian political field during the 13-17th century.The research on the development of Hasar-orog and its relation with Mongolian Imperial Court is significant for the study of ancient Mongolian history.This dissertation studies the development of Hasar-orog and its relation with Mongolian Imperial Court during the 13-17th century based on preliminary research and the Mongolian classical literature during the 17-19th century and other historical documents,such as The Secret History of the Mongols,The History of the Yuan Dynasty,The History Collection,History of the World Conquer,The History of Genghis Khan's Campaign,The Record of the History of the Ming Dynasty and The Record of the History of the Qing Dynasty.The aim is to ravel out the relation of Hasar-orog and Mongolian Imperial Court,and its forming,developing,changing courses.Moreover,the paper states relevant historical events in the middle and end of the 12 th century.This dissertation consists of six parts.Chapter one studies the relation between Hasar and Genghis Khan,which focuses on the following subjects: Firstly,Hasar's achievements which have not been made clear.Secondly,the “alliance” and contradiction between Genghis Khan and Hasar.Thirdly,Hasar's contribution and historical role.The author thinks that the contradiction between Hasar and Genghis Khan is nonantagonistic.Hasar lays the foundation of the Hasar-orog with his outstanding contribution,glorious status and great force.Chapter two studies the things on Hasar-orog,such as the concept of the Hasar-orog,the formation of the Hasar-orog,the relation between Hasar-orog and Genghis Khan's royal family,the territory of the Hasar-orog and the genealogical tree of the Hasar-orog.This chapter points out that the Hasar-orog is a part of Genghis Khan's royal family,the Hasar-orog has a wealthy land which is the foundation of the development.At the same time,this chapter researches the doubts in the genealogical tree of the Hasar-orog.Chapter three studies the reasons of the competition for the khan throne and the role of Hasar-orog in the competition during post-Genghis Khan times.At the same time,this chapter analyzes the traditional relation between Hasar-orog and Mongolian imperial court according to temporal Mongolian social circumstance,and points out that the traditional relation between Hasar-orog and Mongolian imperial court is a relation of interdependence and mutual confidence as a whole.Chapter four studies the development of the Hasar-orog and its relation with the imperial court in the Yuan Dynasty.This chapter expounds the development of the Hasar-orog in the Yuan Dynasty,states its role in the foundation,consolidation of the dynasty,and researches its influence in the competition for the khan throne.The paper analyzes the reason of the victory of the Yuan Dynasty Great Capital force in the “War of Two Capitals”,the important role of the Hasar-orog and the significant impact of the war to the territorial expansion of the Hasar-orog,and believes that the support of the Hasar-orog is one of the key factors of the victory of the competition for the khan throne.Chapter five studies the relation between Hasar-orog and the imperial court from 1368 to 1604.The content includes the relation between Hasar-orog and the north Yuan imperial court from the time of Yuan Huizong Togontemur's retreating to the time of Ligdenhodogt Khan's accession to the throne,the expands of the Hasar-orog and the formation of Horchin tribe.This chapter focuses on the situation of the Hasar-orog and the formation process of Horchin tribe during the times of Tegustemur Khan and Dayan Khan.Chapter six studies the relation between the Hasar-orog with Daraisunhudeng Khan and Tumenzasagt Khan,the formation of the branch tribes of the Hasar-orog,the relation between the head of Nagon Horchin tribe and Ligdenhodogt Khan.This chapter points out that the relation between the head of Nagon Horchin tribe and Ligdenhodogt Khan is a kind of monarch-subject relationship originally,but the relation had become a kind of hostile relationship.At the same time,this chapter analyzes the process,reason and result of the change.
